R3 PCGB/Tipec - Rolling Road Dyno Testing Day - 15th of June - Sedox Sunderland

It's not really "torture" for the cars at all. The rolling road provides resistance so the engine is under load, therefore it's no different to a full-chat overtake on the motorway, etc. The car is run almost to the rev limiter in 3rd and 4th for maximum loading and that's that. Takes 15-20 mins including fastening the car down to start with and is a useful way of seeing what's what as well as what's not so hot.

I must be a bit of a wuss because I cant remember revving my car to the redline or even close I usually change up even when driving quick around 4Krpm, but each to their own like I said just not my idea of enjoyment.

Lol, that's because you get to ride the S2 torque wave, you know we turbo boys don't get our kicks until the revs are at 6!

Hi Paul, When do we make the balance of payment, on the day or in advance? Either is good for me. Thanks Steve

Hi Steve Just pay the balance on the day. Thanks

Hi Guys All meet at Sedox at 09:00am on Saturday morning. See some of you's on Wednesdays club night & the rest on the day. Thanks [:D]

Hi, Looking forward to meeting you guys tomorrow, I met some of you at Fastlane but did not put names to faces. I'll be there sharpish as I am somewhat timebound. It's only a month since I was last at Sedox therefore I look forward to seeing how many horses I have gained with maturity [;)] Steve

First, thanks to Paul for organising this event. Ref surprises - nice one for me, the car gained 8 hp since my last visit 4 weeks ago with no mods to the car! Might go back next month for another increase ;-) It was also good to put real names to user names at last, shame I had to leave before the end. Cheers Steve

I will second that thanks Paul The car made 221.5hp on a bog standard car, so only lost 10hp over 24 years not bad

Unfortunately that highlights the problems with dyno tuning and comparisons - if I were you I'd be comparing the dyno sheets and looking at the barometric pressure and inlet temperatures on both days. (Or just go with the higher one if anyone asks, lol)
