R3 Regional Show 20/08/2017

A convoy from R18 will be leaving the Shell Service Station at Low Row about 8.30am (awaiting confirmed numbers), so we should be with you around 10.00am

Andy - re Convoy from Burtree Lay-by - only 20 min drive to Witton Castle from here, so plenty of time to get your Hi-Viz vest on!

Travelling up the A68 from Bishop Auckland direction, which is the best way to get to Witton Castle?

Looking at the map, there seems to be a road in from both the north and south sides of the castle, can I use the bottom one?

I believe, from Witton Castle's own website, access is from the south, Sloshes Lane.
That's right, from the A68 there are clear signs onto Sloshes Lane for Witton Castle Country Park, plus a brown tourist sign for Escomb Saxon Church.

Congratulations Greg and Deb on yet another very successful show at Witton Castle, (I keep forgetting how beautiful that place is hidden on our doorstep). Linda and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was a great opportunity to meet more people and explore new things.

I want to remind everyone of the huge amount of effort, both physical and administrative, that goes into organising these events and you both should be highly praised for your time, dedication and personal expense., including the others members who offer their support. I'm pretty sure that long after we all went home you and the team were still working well into the evening before you got back to your own lives. So thanks again Greg and Deb for making it enjoyable for us all !

regards

John
