R31 visit to Porsche Center Swindon.

ORIGINAL: BartyB

James, Derek mentioned doing lunch at a restaurant near Porsche Centre Swindon. Can you put me down for this? Thanks.

BTW, I'm not sure if others going on the 1st are aware of Derek's suggestion.

'1st December - visit to Porsche Cars Swindon; 10:00 - 12:00. Aftwards we will repair to the Weighbridge Brewhouse for lunch. This is a great little restaurant and is just around the corner from the Porsche Centre. Lunch is first class and only £10. If any one who is going via the Burford area is interested why don't we meet up and go in convoy.
We could meet at 9.00 am at the lay by on the Lechlade road and go via Lechlade, Highworth then round the A417 / M4 and to the OPC from Junction 16 to avoid crossing Swindon.

Sounds like a good idea James. As I'm travelling from Witney, I'd be very happy to join in with the convoy. BTW, which lay-by were you thinking of?

The lay-by I am thinking of is the one on the right as you turn towards Lechlade from the Burford roundabout. It is by the golf club and useually has a burger van in.

I thought if we tried crossing Swindon in a convoy we might end up very spread out due to the roundabouts. If we come from J16 there are only a couple of roundabouts so there would be more chance of arriving together.

I know the lay-by you mean James - I'll see you there. I do rather agree with Derek that the trip through Swindon on Saturday morning will be fine even in a convoy.
