R8 after Christmas winter/spring shoot?

ORIGINAL: carrera7

The date is now confirmed as the 29th of March. Venue and cost TBC anyone who is interested should contact myself or Ben. RO

Sorry Guys I can't make 29th March [X(]- but do you want me to advertise this at the R10 meeting this coming Sunday?

That would be appreciated if you could. The more the merrier, usually have some good laughs at these does. Patrick .

I have confirmed the 29th at Kibworth (sorry Mike [&:] ) and we are pencilled in
There is one last thing to confirm for them (plus deposits to pay) and that is what time to start.

Due to the size of the group they wouldn't want to start after 2pm, however they are open from 10am.. Personally I think an 11am start gives most people time for a lie in and travel, but if people have a preference for a later start let me know

Next step is deposits; they need £10 a head to confirm the booking, so if you can get the money to me via paypal or bank transfer, or Patrick at an R8 meeting I will get us booked in and confirmed.. Im away from 18th until 30th on holiday, but will have a round-up and try to be in a position to pay the deposit and confirm our booking during the first couple of weeks of Feb

For those of you wishing to paypal the money to me, please use hanks_benjamin_j@hotmail.co.uk as the email address and reference the R8 shoot in the transaction.. anyone wanting to transfer the money or drop it through my door, please give me a call and I'll give you the details.. 07801-357-345

Mike, please let the guys at your meeting know, and pass on my details if necessary for a deposit on a place..

Ben [:D]

have a lil look in regions 5's section. There is going to be a meet at Oulton Park on the 15th March to coincide with the track day.
There will be many people from 5 and others not only racing but just coming along for a photo shoot.
I guess the more the merrier, I hope I'm not stepping out of line here.

Finally back in the UK for a while after a hectic couple of weeks at work!..
Right, I have an answer phone message to contact Kibworth, but I got it a bit late tonight to respond. Im assuming its about the day and asking when we can pay a deposit.
Do we have a definite list and can we start to get some money together?
ben

Put me down as definate. I have put this in Porsche Post and told those who attended the meetings. I will email those who showed interest towards the end of month if they fail to reply by then!

Hi Ben -

I am looking doubtfull for 29 March so count me out at this stage.

Happy motoring - Randolph

OK, so we have Patrick, Me, Sue (my better half), Pete Burrows +3, and a possible other 2 shooters.
Anyone else let me know ASAP as I need to book next week
Regards
Ben

Received this rough agenda for the day this morning based on 10 people. Plan to split into two groups so first half (beginers) get an intro type lesson and the second half (who have shot before) get more of an improver lesson. I think this means everyone gets something out of the day, and there is not too much standing around between stands

Arrive 10.45 - 11.00
Safety briefing
Split into two teams. Both teams to shoot varied targets
Short break
Both teams to shoot together for competition pairs to finish
Medal for top shot
Finish approx 1.00

Cost £40.00 pp, £10 deposit required by 22 Feb

If any of the party would like to carry on shooting this would be at the normal members rate of £8.00 (to include clays and cartridges)per round of 25

some information I just forwarded to someone else attending that may or may not be of use to those of you planning on coming along

The plan is to meet at 10:45 for an 11am start. I will be there from about 10, as I know they have decent bacon sarnie's and hot tea's on the cheap ;)
The location is kibworth shooting ground about 1/2 way between Kibworth Harcourt and Market Harborough. It used to be a nightmare to find, but they have a proper little road sign for the place now!.. If you are heading from Kibworth Harcourt direction its on the left, about 500yds past the tip (or recycling centre, or whatever they call them these days!)

Their website is below, but it doesnt give a massive amount of information

http://www.kibworthshootingground.co.uk/

The site itself is clean and tidy and they have a proper road and carpark, although its hardcore/gravel rather than tarmac, so if you like to keep your car spotless it might be better to come in something else! Its a decent flat surface though and no access restrictions (ramps/speed humps, etc) for low cars. I will be taking mine, although its my daily driver at the moment so I dont have much choice..

As for clothes, make sure you're warm, as it might get chilly. There's no need for wellies or anything, although if its a bit damp underfoot you might want to wear some, or some cat boots or similar. Normally I get away with normal shoes or site-boots. I would recommend wearing something other than just a shirt, as it can be chilly there, but also so you have some padding. If its a first time for you, I bet you a fiver you end up with a bit of a bruise on the shoulder!.. If you wear a couple of layers or a jacket you will be fine though; in the summer I shoot with a shoulder pad (which looks like 1/2 a wonder bra) as it just softens the blow a little..

If you wear glasses and contact lenses, you might want to wear the lenses, as some people find the arms of the glasses get bumped by the gun and its a bit distracting. To be honest I normally wear sunglasses and its not a problem.. If its a sunny day then either a baseball cap or a pair of sunnies is a good idea, as some of the shoots might be into/across the sun a bit..

There will be a bit of standing around so I guess the best advice is to wear something warm; I will prob just wear jeans, boots, a jumper and a gillet; its handy if you have a jacket or gillet with big pockets for cartridges, although I think we're shooting 25 targets at a time, so not too bad to just carry a box of 25 (if you're shooting 100 its a nightmare!..)

any problems or last minuite questions feel free to give me a call
