Radiator protection.

Now here's an alternative in stainless and trick coating, which apparently can be fitted without removing PU (according to 911 & Porsche World advertisement), so making periodic removal to vacuum out debris less problamatic. http://www.motordrive.com/acatalog/999.html

The more I think about this, the more delinquent I think Porsche are for not providing better protection as standard, so any solutions are very welcome.

Motodrive have confirmed to me that fitting is without removing PU. Here is a picture they sent me. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g19/Geoff997/911GrillStreet1.jpg

They look very good on the black car. [:)] I wait to hear the outcome for the Turbo fitting... garyw

I have received and fitted the grills mentioned in a post above. This is what you get in the kit:

Cool! This guy is making his own right now too: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/997-turbo-gt2/202156-997-turbo-mesh-grilles.html

The main advantage of the ones I've used is they can be fitted without removing the PU. Also easily removed for occasional hoovering out the dust and small particles that will still get past the grills.

Alex, some of the really good indipendent Porsceh Garages are doing them now too. I got mine from my usual supplier. Had mine set further back so no so visible on the road.

Have a look at Zunsport grilles. They manufacture grilles for most types of Porsche and are fitted from the outside. Had them on mine now for almost two years and still look as good as new.

I looked at Zunsport, but OPC Brooklands told me they would fark my warranty on my then 997.2 C2S... I now have more exposed rad on my C2S 4GTS... Help!

Loads of us have fitted mesh behind the intakes - and no warranty problem. Mine has been done for nearly 6 years (fitted by my PC!). Why should there be a warranty issue anyway - they fit them on the GT3!
