RAF Scampton Families Day.

Following a few last minute alterations, I have submitted the complete list of 15 vehicles (Porsches) to RAF Scampton. Please be at crash gate 5 of the Lincolnshire show ground at 0830 and no later than 0845. Bring along some photo ID (driving Licence or passport)! I look forward to seeing you all and hope the weather will be favourable.

Weather Forecast for RAF Scampton on Monday is light cloud, 10 knot Westerly wind, possible high 19-21 degrees. Chance of a light shower around 1000.

A place has come available for RAF Scampton in the Morning. If anyone is interested contact me ASAP, this was far too late for substitutions as all paperwork has been processed and collected but I can get it sorted. I have complained that we wanted more places, imagine the situation if we cannot attain the amount of places we were allocated! I will be checking e-mail until midnight and will reply straight away. Many thanks

Good evening Gavin, If you have a spare place for tomorrow, I can re-arrange things to come if the space has not been allocated. Regards Stuart Porsche 944 S2 cabriolet H204 GJU Baltic Blue

We spend a lot of time negotiating certain events during the Year. Some of these like today are very prestigious venues open to very few people. I have had long protracted communication to try to increase the amount of people that we can invite, it is with great disappointment when we have to inform people that they cannot attend because we have reached our maximum numbers. Often some of these people are amongst the most loyal supporters of R4 events, but in the name of equality; we try to share the places around. Try to imagine my frustration today when people fail to attend after requesting some of the few places. This undermines my attempts to increase our numbers for future events and reduces our financial contribution to their charity fund. It also robs other people of much sought after places. Sorry to go on, but I am angry and realise that this does not apply to most members. Rant over!

This is a great event to which I was looking forward greatly. Although I had a place when 20 cars were permitted I was (understandably ) asked to stand down when cars were reduced to 15 as I was attending without a passenger and I agreed willingly so that the max. number could benefit. Have to say I am fairly miffed that others appear not have valued the opportunity and have placed the organisers in a difficult position. Andrew

Hi Gavin I know we said it on the day, thank you for all the effort that went into arranging the Scampton day. Despite the weather not being too kind to start with it was a fantastic event and I truly hope it will continue in the future. Kind regards Richard & Wendy
