Rattling/bobbling noise from rear

Nathan,

Yes - it turned out to be the gate on the rear caliper which holds the pads in. This was loose (not clipped up completely) and this allowed the pads to rattle around.

Ironically, the gate was loose because I hadn't done it up properly after taking the calipers off ... to clean up some plate lift. Had it not been for the fact that the newly-installed caliper was completely lift-free, the pads wouldn't have been loose enough to rattle ....

Entirely my fault, and a salutory lesson. Clipped the plate home and all is fine.

Not sure how helpful this is for you as yours is a 924S, which will have a different design of caliper, but inspect carefully for things which are loose and see what you see.

Hi Oli

Realise this post is quite old but did you resolve this noise issue? I have exactly same noise on my 924S you see so any pointers would be gratefully received!

Cheers

Nathan
Check the rear calipers, if they're the same as a lux or S then it could be the caliper has come out of it's slider. I had this on both sides and it took me ages to find it as it's not that obvious unless you take the pads out and try to move the caliper. It's a pretty easy fix tho'.
