Hi,

Please could someone help as to what would the value be of a 1996, 993c2 in Arena Red, fully documented history file etc, mileage is approx 108k.

Thanks.

Was thinking about the same, but chatting to people at shows they reckon could get anything from £23-27k

Have followed pricing for some 18months I have generated a little excel model which generates fair values. Use this when buying myslef last year and have kept in going as a a little hobbuette. Without knowing all key inputs and condition... model says £20-21 private. Add £2-3k trade.

Good straight, honest car - you should get at least £23k (private sale), in my opinion.

my advice-take a look at 911.virgin and paragon-they usually have a few 993`s-and take 2-3 k off for private sale,5k if part exing!!

Yes, and Henry at 911virgin has just started adding "recorded mileage" to his listings, which helps.

Yip......21-23k

Always go for the high end and sell privately if you can...........stick to the price you want....someone will pay it...as most people just fall in love with the car on first sight........

Understandably.....

For comparison, I recently paid £21K for my 95 c2, Polar silver 97K miles, full history, bought from a dealer ...

(although I have seen an Arena Red in the flesh and personally think its a lovely colour ...)

Here, here.. just looked again at the pic posted earlier in this post - looks great.

Woooahhhh! Its got tan leather as well! Are you trying to reduce your market to the smallest possible?[;)]

I wonder how much the mileage might put up a certain proportion of buyers.

When I was in the market for a 993, I looked at a number of cars with 90K+ miles and, whilst they were in good condition and mechanically sound, I still couldn't help but have one eye on resale and the effect that me putting another 10-15K miles on it would have on its value.

I know, objectively, that a 911 with 110K miles is no less likely to have mechanical problems than a car with 90K miles but there's this psychological barrier to a six figure mileage that even I, a relatively informed buyer, struggled a little bit with - so I'm almost certain that it will have an impact on less enthusiastic and more casual buyers.

Thinking of selling already, Nick? Or just idle curiosity? It doesn't seem that longer ago that I remember reading your post saying you'd just picked it up..... From memory, this was the car sold by Peak Porsche, wasn't it? If it is, I seem to remember it was up at quite a reasonable price to begin with, so I can't see you losing much (if anything) on it if you had to sell now.

I think its easy to get stuck on the whole 100K mile thing .. Mine hit the magic 100K this week and in a way its a sense of relief - now I dont have to worry how much mileage I do !

I commute everyday in my car doing some 400-500 miles per week and to me thats the way it should be - I dont want a weekend show queen that never gets used but always gets polished - 911's are about the driving experience - as Peter Morgan suggested in one of the Porsche Mags recently, dont get too anal about buying a 993 (there'll always be something wrong, however small, with most ..), but just be sensible and buy a well-looked after genuine car - and enjoy !!

173K -good going ! Have you had a top-end rebuild or anything like that ? So I know what to expect from mine ! think I will try and keep to 6,000 mile oil changes too ...

Have to confess [&o] - there is a 6k bill from the previous owner for a top end rebuild at 113,000 miles

Apparently the cams were worn... which means I change the oil very regularly, and use the best I can find, so 6000 mile oil changes seems reasonable to me

Hi Mark,

Just curious to know what it might be worth !, if i could get a little more than i paid for it - then may consider, been at a few shows and people tell me that i'd get at least £25k or certainly more than i paid, so it got me thinking.

Yes, Nick, it looks fantastic and the best time of the day to do a shot is when you did this one. The richness of the colour is great! As far as tan interior goes, seems to me to be an excellent choice which complements the deep exterior colour.[:D]

Don't we all see dark blue, black, or silvers all the time?[:)] Can get a bit "˜samey' even with such a beautiful car as the 993.
