Rear seats in 964 RS

There are a few C2 replicas out there, could be one of them perhaps.
I suppose it would be possible to put rear seats in a lightweight bucketed RS in theory, but you would probably end up buggering around with the rear carpet (tarnishing originality) and there would be very little rear access because of the bucket seats. It would certainly be illegal for anyone to be in them when the car is in motion because of safety concerns re getting out in a crash.
Besides, anyone committing such an act of sacrilege would be immediately covered in milk and white bread and left tied up for the badgers. []

The passenger seat is a standard recliner re-trimmed in triple red/grey?
Presumably it was type approved like this when new.
I posted the same question re GT-3 some time ago and was shot down in flames with suggestions such as "Buy a Turbo" Sometimes people can miss the point...

Rear seats were an option on the 3.2 Club Sport, I went to view a car earlier this year that was ordered from the factory as such. Not many of these about as far as I am aware - the car that I saw is for sale in Porsche Post if anyone is interested.

I am asuming that it is not the same car that was at Brands?

My RS originally came with the back rest section only of the rear seats + rear seat belts.
I have since removed the rear seat sections and belts (still have them) due to fitting a full cage.
Could my car therefore be unique as rear seats where never an option?? (I'll post the option codes for my car later)

The red 964RS on Display with rear seats WAS A REAL 964RS as far as I am aware the only one to date but Paul may give us more info...As others have posted above the car was built for Herr Big Direktor Der Porsche and has an original 959 passenger seat and C2 rear seats, I nearly put him in the field when he arrived at Brands as a joke...however there was a second red car (Monday) that appeared on the Display in Porsche Open livery was this a 964RS/Cup Car? Did not have much time to closely inspect the car, there were several good copies that turned up at the Main Gate many people investing huge amounts in body and interior replica kits, IN THE FIELD MATEY! But top marks for trying........[]

Car is a LHD 1993 lightweight RS German car.
The rear seats consisted of just the back rests (which fold down) + the seat belts. Front seats are the standard RS leather recaros'.
IIRC - There is also a yellow LHD RS which also had these kind of rear seats originally (also now removed due to cage fitment).
Option codes will be posted later today....

1 my parents are married
2 i rang to buy some stickers after reading your offer to sell sets...porsche post march 2004 page 89 (think before you type???)
3 my car has no back seats so it must be another car..
anyway we are drifting off tats question about rear seats, there is an article in sept 2004 porsche world about a club sport owner that has fitted rear belts , might be worth a look . to get access you would have to fit an ordinary 911 seat although you could look at the tilting frames that demon tweeks sell so you could keep the recaro in...hope to see you at Oulton and Donnington.

The other Red RS I was referring is an original factory four seater local Kent Member car.......
Looks like I've started something here...didn't realise this is quite such an emotive subject for you RS pilots!!
I've just sold my 930, and am hoping to replace it with a 964RS. Being able to carry the wife and kids would make it much easier to justify, but I'll just have to think of a few more arguments!
It sounds like there are only a couple of cars in the country with rear seats, and the authenticity of these is highly doubtful.
Thanks for all the advice,
tat
