As some of you know, I've been slowly tracing the history of my car back to the it's Carrera Cup days, and have not got beyond 1994.

However, today, a breakthrough, from a contact I made at the Festival:

1991 Car no.11 Porschezentrum Reutlingen MAX MORITZ

1st Osterreichring + Fastest Lap
Ist Zandvoort
2nd Hockenheim
5th overall in championship.

It was also driven by Rudiger Schmidt:
3rd Nurburgring + Fastest lap

And Vittorio Colombo -Singen, last race of the season, 12th or so........

Driven by Oscar Larrauri, who according to my research drove in F1 for Eurobrun in '88-'90. 8 races, best place 13th at the '88 Mexican GP!!

Now searching for pix.......

Added 16/09/04: http://www.raw-footage.com/HSR-2000/Action/935-956-962/962-1.html will give you an idea of the colour scheme....

I think I need to go and sit down!!!

(Edited coz I got me facts wrong -thanx Bones!!)

Great result Mel , now if only I could trace my sporto back to the one that won the 1967 84hr race at the Ring!

I'll start by putting the no. 11 on it, but it would be stunning in Jagermeister colors!! Only just bought the Revell 935 Jagermeister kit a few months ago!!

Wouldn't that be great, Bones.....

BTW, Eoin's car featured in the latest Octane magazine, it was apparently THE car that Siffert ran into as seen in the Le Mans film!!

Hey, less of the MAD, Rich, but it does help......[;)]

Excellent news Mel [:D] I must admit I did not realise the Carrera Cup went back as far as 1991. For some reason I had it in my head that it started in '92

Make sure you get it verified before the Jaegermeister respray [8D]

Before we all get excited about the Jagermeister respray, you can imagine I've been trawling the internet and looking thru books, and then remembered I bought three videos of the '91 season..............Singen, Ostereichring and Zandvoort, the latter two of which my car won!!

So the color is basically white with red front wings, green rear wings and side flashes and red around the rear window and wing. There is also a Vitesse 1:43 model available of it, so I will be scouring ebay again!!

I'll try and capture a pic of it.

The C2 Cup Cars were first used in 1990, and from '86-'89 -the 944 Turbo Cup!!

See: www.carrera-cup.de and click on History.

If you do a Google on it, it will give you a chance to 'Translate this page' as it's all auf Deutsch, but does throw up some odd literal translation of the driver's names!!

The saga continues.this is a scaringly small world.

Some of you may have met my pal Jo from Munich who has a '92 Cup Car and came over to Donington for the PCGB track day a couple of years ago.

He has just sent me a pic of his car in '92, sponsored by the same Italian company of Torno, as mine was in '91..............the same colours.........

Melv I'm sure I've seen a picture of your car as a bare shell being prepared for respray. I'm sure it was in it's oroginal Red, White and Green livery. Can't remember where I saw the picture though. Probably came from Tom.

What Logo did your cup car run under Mel. I have about 40 cars minichamps and Vittesse.
BTW did you get the Brands photos?
Jeff

Ur getting worse ,u saw it when Tom gave it to me over a curry , i gave it to MerkinMan and they re worried abt my Alzheimers! Wat was ur name ?

The pix u saw, RSR, were of the car in its green and yellow livery as raced in the Kumho Ferrari-Porsche at Zandvoort in '98. Two firsts and a second!! It was then resprayed white as you see now.

Nice to know the car has "class" and was'nt just an also ran. Must be a real buzz finding out so much of the history.

Thanks Vic. It's the 2 youngsters I've got. As soon as they arrived most of my memory capacity faded rather quickly.
