Region 10 visit to Meguiars

We have managed to secure a date for the visit to Meguiars which we have discussed at our Regional meetings. The date is 14th February 2009 - so an ideal Valentine's Day out (!!!). As you will see from your calendar, the 14th is on a Saturday and Meguiars only run these seminars on a Saturday so we had litle choice about the day.

I have yet to receive any details from Meguiars so I'll post more once I have but to give you a flavour of the visit it's planned that you should arrive around 9:30 for a 10 o'clock start. Coffee will be provided and there will follow a presentation of their various products including machine polishing products, followed by some practical hands-on stuff.

Their premises are in Daventry - so not too far for most in the Region - and it's expected that the session should finish around mid-afternoon. They can accomodate up to 25 people so I'm guessing we might struggle to get that many from Region 10 so anyone from neighbouring Regions will, I'm sure, be very welcome to join us.

Watch this space for more details.

Regards

Dave

I suppose handing over a bottle of Meguirs' finest, in lieu of her favourite smellies, might not go down too well!

Would certainly like to attend but I'm in Madrid until at least the previous Wednesday, so can't be certain at the moment.

This sounds like an interesting trip. It's my birthday AND Valentine's Day, so I hope to be able to get a pass out! Put me down for one place.

Rumour has it, Dave, that you're handing out red roses to all participants - in that case, count me in! [8D]

I just thought I'd give this a bit of a bump to remind everyone that this visit is ON. I've spoken to Dominik Berry at Meguiars today and everything is go for the visit.

I don't know about red roses but I'm going to be at the front of the queue with a red face if we don't get a good turnout to this event. As ever, of course, the turnout will very much depend of the weather but don't feel bad about turning up in something other than a Porsche. I'm afraid I'm going to come in my daily Golf this time as I've got the Porsche SORN'ed until April/May.

I suspect there may be some sense in meeting up at OPC Silverstone for the drive up to Daventry if anyone is keen - I would suggest leaving Towcester no later than 9am if we are to get to Meguiars at any sort of sensible time. Otherwise anyone can make their own way direct of course.

We've been talking about organising a visit like this for some time so don't let's pass up the opportunity. Since I am sure R10 alone won't exceed Meguiar's capacity anyone else wanting to join us is more than welcome although I would appreciate indications on here (or by e-mail to 964@porscheclubgb.com) rather than you just turn up.

I have detailed directions from North and South if anyone needs them - if necessary I'll post them on the web (somewhere). Links to the directions can also be found on the R10 Events Calendar on the main PCGB web site at www.porscheclubgb.com.

Count me in, Dave - although quite how I'm going to manage getting to Towcester for 09:00 on a weekend I don't know - given my eyes aren't normally open by that time!

I'm going to have to withdraw as I have had to make other plans for the day. Maybe next time.

Sorry Dave, undoubtedly a good session but I've got to be in Kent by early afternoon [8|] with the family, so will probably struggle to get up to Daventry first. I did publicise it at the Regional Meeting last week, but suggest you post on the R8 & 9 sites too.

.....shame, I wanted to stock up on my Meguiars products for the Spring..

Have a good day. [:)]

Regards

Please put me down for 1 place. As I live in Rugby, I'll go direct to Meguiars.
As I haven't met people from the Region before, I'll try to get along to the Monthly Meet the previous Sunday as well (if it's a nice enough day to give the car an airing...)

Thanks for the invite to Region 8. I will probably be there and will try to stir up some interest at our meeting on the 2nd though for some reason members don't like to travel too far even within the region. RO Region 8

I've updated the first page of the thread with all those who have expressed interest thus far and I'll continue to do that with any further additions. Members from ANY region are obviously welcome to attendalthough we'd appreciate the nod here just to keep an eye on numbers.

For anyone going directly to Meguiars rather than meeting at OPC Silverstone I've put a couple of maps up. Directions from the North are here and from the South are here. The maps are pdf format and can be printed if you need to take them with you. Links to the directions can also be found on the R10 Events Calendar on the main PCGB web site at www.porscheclubgb.com.

Looking forward to a good turnout - it should be an interesting day.

Regards

Dave
