Region 10 visit to Meguiars

ORIGINAL: Sparkind

Put a +1 for me Dave. What time are we meeting at PC Silverstone?
Kelvin,

I was thinking of trying to get away from Towcester by around 9:00. It's not that far to Daventry so we'll have plenty of time.

Dave

I've just had a call from Meguiars to confirm that the Saturday visit is ON. The weather for the rest of the week looks to be quite promising so further snow seems unlikely.

Tom Clarke also warned that anyone using sat nav to get there may be directed to the wrong industrial estate so please refer to the directions given (there are links within the event entry) on the Regions events diary on the main PCGB web site.

For those meeting at OPC Silverstone I had reckoned to get away from there by around 9:00am although there is plenty of leeway should we get delayed.

Any questions? Please e-mail me at 964@porscheclubgb.com or call me on 01908 694475. This number always diverts to my mobile so you can get me at any reasonable (!!) time.

Currently we have commitments from 15 people so we have room for another 10 (max) .

Looking forward to an educational day.

Regards

Dave

Thanks, Dave, for arranging this. It was very informative - I certainly learnt a few more things about how (not) to wash my cars and I bought a couple more items too (gonna need a second garage soon just to store cleaning products). Excellent turnout, good weather too - great to get the Boxster out of the garage for the first time in over a week.

OPC Silverstone now have one each of the Gen.2 Cayman and Boxster and are going to have their own launch day(s) soon - this is independant of any invites currently coming out from Porsche GB to see and play with them at the Silverstone Driving Centre. They have also just received a very nice Speed Yellow GT3 - although if you're interested, you might have to be quick...

I think considerable thanks are due to those who turned out early on a Saturday morning to come along. It was a really good turn out and I think everybody found it interesting - including the guy with the (now) patchwork Cayenne!! What the Meguiars guys achieved in very little time was quite impressive - and the most staggering factoid of the day, for me at least, was the revelation that Meguiars makes Carnuba Wax for Zymol!!!

Sue asked me to write up the visit for a PP article so if you have any thoughts or points you would like mentioned please e-mail (964@porschecliubgb.com).

Chris, you might as well e-mail me a couple of decent res pictures rather than to Sue as I suggested before she ear'oled me!!

Regards

Dave
