Remote locking.

Im not sure what to say: if your car has it then it has it. Im confident that factory central locking was only available with the new handles though (what I mean by this is that only the plain late-style handles have provision for central locking) and this was simple key-operated central locking. If its remote then I would venture that it is either retro-fit, or possibly a dealer-fit option (which wouldnt have to use Porsche parts). If its fitted to a 1987 car (with script handles) then I will eat my Arai if theyre factory central locking handles with integrated wires.....

They are scripted handles no less, I will get a picture when the snow has melted!

So let me get this straight, I dont have an S1 or an S2- model I have a Series 2. But isnt it just an S1 with a slightly bigger engine?
Gawd! It might be wrong, but can't we just call the early cars early dash, or square dash, and late cars oval dash!
Lloyd, you have an S2. Which is the replacement for the 944S, with the 2.5 16V engine. Nothing to do with "series".
Series one is the early car with the 924 interior, series two is the later car with the oval dash regardless of 8-valve, 16-valve or turbo. It's pointless, if pedantically correct, and confusing. [&o]

SO I do have an S2? I am so confused
Lol!
Yep, you have an S2. And, a series 2 car with the later interior. All S2 are series 2 as well. The "S" is for "super", the line-up was original 944 8-valve, then the short-lived 2.5 16-valve 944S (super) and then the 3.0 16-valve S2 (super mark 2).
Super, as in "S", and series, as in dashboard style, aren't related.

Was about to post that having a Turbo avoids all this Series and S nonsense, but then of course there was the Turbo S followed by the non Turbo S cars with the 250 engine and with almost all the features of the S, but which folk still seem to call the S even when it isn't. [&o][8|][&:][8D]
Sorry OP no idea about the Central locking question and how it relates to the lack of S's or otherwise.

A pointless, disingenuous remark Paul. It isnt 'pedantically correct': it is how Porsche descrbed their models and it reflects the only substantial platfom upgrade.
