Removing Cayman Front Bumper

They look good Graeme and I suspect that the securing small cable ties are barely noticeable, other than on close inspection. The Cayman looks good in Aqua Blue too. Jeff

Thanks, it is hard to see the cable ties. I took the photo's but didn't put the grills on. Car was getting some work done during the summer so I got them to fit them. Don't think it would be difficult though, you just feed the mesh through the space in the plastic slats and secure it with cable ties. The rear is a little bit more work but still I think you can do with the bumper on. Involves drilling small holes for self tappers. A fairly easy diy job, I just didn't have the time.

Just curious Graeme but were they fitted at the OPC? We have two on here who did get theirs fitted by the OPC's. In which case I can't see them having objections come warranty queries.

Well, I’ve added the mesh grills inside the bumper using the Planet9 guide and it has all gone very well indeed. No problems other than the inner wing linings were a pig to get back on, mainly because the car was on ramps at the time and access was a bit difficult. Also, remember there is a horizontal flange at the bottom of each liner that screws, using a T30 on to the flange at the bottom rear of the bumper. If you forget this then the liner flange will be under the bumper flange rather than above it, which stops the liner going up properly into the correct position. Overall, a good job that should stop a repeat of the holed condensers! John

Ah, should have mentioned that if anyone wants a copy of the template for cutting the mesh for the Cayman then just let me know and I'll be happy to send you one.

I fitted a home made grill to mine, just to protect the coolers from winter leaves and stones... It worked perfect, OPC had no probs with them or warranty renewal, I did tell them first, after all....they want our money [;)] I planned to remove the grills after the crappy weather but they work so well I'm gonna leave them and you can't really see them in black.
