Replacement Mats

My black mats have suffered recently and are now coolant stained, so it's time for some new ones. I am sure they weren't original, and they were the wrong colour so it's no big loss.

I know that I could go to Southbound and get some pukka ones in Classic Grey for a million quid or thereabouts, but I just want something that's good enough.

Does anybody have any experience of any of the usual ebay mat sellers? I can't tell if they are ropey or not. Alternatively the Porscheshop people are selling some at £50 or so, which sounds fairly palatable, assuming they aren't just the ones from eBay but marketed at a higher price?

Any thoughts? Any suggested retailers?

Cheers

James

A timely post as I am looking for some new ones too and without having to auction my kids to buy them!

OPC want around £120 for a set...!

I have 968 mats in both my 944s from the OPC,whats nice are the brackets that hold them in place,i am sure i didn't pay that much,is that after club discount?

I like the ability to design your own mats, just a shame they dont have Burgundy as a Main/Trim option [&o] . Prices seem pretty good too.

looked at site - not particularly easy to see what would suit a 944 - what and how did you order?

click onto "custom car mats" on the left and you can enter car details. They make them to order, cut to fit each car.

Let us know how well they fit when they arrive ... could become supplier of choice to the forum if they're good ...

Oli.

They are a perfect fit in my Jag, they are shaped round the foot rest on the left too. Go for premium velour as it is a little thicker.

I'd be interested to know how they fit on the 944 (and maybe some pics) as I might get some new ones too.

Ordered and received 5 days later, good fit and reasonable quality, or I should say value for money , as they are far less in price than the geniune Porsche mats.

how were your mats ?

As Barry said, good fit and good value for money - ie not in the same quality league as the Porsche ones, but then neither is the price!

hiya james, it all depends how fussy you are, you could go to porscheshop or bite the bullet and go to a opc and you get clips etc to help hold mats in place albeit more expensive that way, good luck, jason p

Amazingly apart from a slight colour fade I have almost immaculate original overmats in mine and (for authenticity) the `clips` require an aluminium trimmed elongated hole in the rear edges of the front carpets.

The elongated hole sits over the cams when they are aligned front/rear and then the cam is twisted 90 degrees which locks them in place. The cams are riveted onto two thin metal strips that protrude from the front of the seat runners each side.

I could photo if needed.

hiya mate, notice you mention not that interior, if you mean the bergundy red seats, door cards, etc re your silver rose, i think the bergundy looks great [imho] but each to there own, all the best jason p

Thanks Jason but what I meant was the Silver Rose plaid upholstery []
