Back in 1989/90 there were a lot of speculators and a lot of cars were bought on finance, or on the back of vulnerable equity. Many cars were of questionable value and integrity and a lot of lessons were learnt after the crash.

This time around the serious collectors and racing enthusiasts are better informed, and there is a huge new wave of buyers in eastern europe and the far east, as well as much more resiliant global wealth.

Yes, some mistakes will be repeated and, yes, certain sectors of the market will suffer if/when the market deflates. But, there is enough sustained wealth for the most desirable cars to remain in demand.

That's not to say that prices won't fall - they may well, but they won't collapse unless something exceptional occurs, seriously threatening global stability.

Early 911

The picture you posted is not dalmation blue (sea blau, oxford blue).
It is lilac.

I used to own the dalmation blue car for sale at the Silverstone classic. It has never had carrera decals since the 1980's. It was/is a fantastic car.

Interesting chassis plate!!! non of the numbers look right,do they? I wonder what the production number is,may be the crayon was not working on the day of the build.

Its a fair resto though,and taking shape nicely
