Guys any idea where these can be found, am looking for the speedline split rim copies.
The one piece wheels seem to be available readily, but not the split rims, anyone spotted them advertised anywhere please ?

I don't think they are availiable anymore. I called PWS who used to stock them, but they told me production ended 3 yrs ago. RH have a website and i think they still show this wheel.

dont buy RH wheels, I recently had one disintergrate on me on a track day at Bedford, somewhat unnerving, The other wheel had also developted cracks also, I contacted Rh alurad the manufacturer and they have done or said bugger all about it. looks like poor casting of the alloys i have pics will send if required.
My new speedlines are lovely though.

Tried PWS and as you say they dont stock the old RH 993RS copy anymore.
They have various odd Speedline valesios but not a complete set
Dont do tramont anymore either ......

Looks like France or Germany then ...

Interesting comment on RH wheels as I have had a set since 98 been on 4 different Porsche all track dayed and most recently on the GT3 with MPCS fitted and I have to say they have served me very well indeed.

Have you tried Paul MaClean or Jasmine motorsport for real ones. Or maybe consider an alternative like the BBS.

I may be able to supply a set of genuine 993 rs speedline 18" wheels if interested, they will need a refurbish to get back to mint.

I've just got myself a set of these BBS wheels from Carnewal, really light wheels compared to the Speedline, saving almost 14kg in total!!

The only thing is the rims are polished bare aluminium, so I had them anodised and had the centre painted dark grey (as they only have it in silver, gold or black now). Looks lovely on the car!!

I can't remember how much exactly, but it's about a couple of hundred quids for the whole job, Chris (Sergent) of GCR sorted it for me, and he put the wheels back together with the original seal 'cos the wheel was new. BBS wouldn't supply the wheels in componant form 'cos of some safety reg or something.

The anodised rim looks so much better with a matt/satin finish, compared to a shiny polished alu rim. I had the centre painted with a Porsche metallic dark grey of some sort, can't remember the name of it now. I thought about powder coating the centre but was advice that painting it will allow future re-painting much easier than the much tougher powder coating.

Also bought the dummy centre lock from Gert for a couple of hundred quids, the normal Porsche centre caps won't fit BTW!

The wheels are so much lighter than the Speedline that you can actually feel the difference when you first started driving with the new wheels, obviously you get used to it fairly quickly but swap them round again to compare them back to back there's definately a noticable difference in the steering feel.

When I spoke to you a while back I think you mentioned there was another option for wheels. Was it "Thirle" or something similar?
Anyways, can we have a pic of the car with the new wheels on?
cheers
Will

Hi Nick,
You are further away, but I would be very happy for you to do the work. One snag....I have no BBS wheels as yet. I am just planning ahead and looking forward to the happy day when I have recovered from my muti-million puund engine rebuild (still ongoing) and I can justify spending further money on my RS. [:(][;)]

I can get the BBS LM rims for the following prices (plus VAT and shipping). Delivery is around a week. These discounted prices, so please don't mention them outside the forum.

LM 099 VA (8.5 x 18) £584 ea
LM 144 HA (10.0 x 18) £627 ea

The rims are polished and lacquered, so the lacquer will need to be removed and the rim repolished before anodising. Carneval charge 3.610 Euro plus VAT for a set of 4 wheels : Front 8.5Jx18 and rear 10Jx18
My price would be £2422 (€3,478.25) plus VAT

Johnny what are you doing to the engine?

Will, I'll load some pics of the car with the new wheels when I have a moment. The other option for me at the time was Cargraphic wheels, with stainless outer rim.
