Haven't heard of the dealer but she does look lovely!

and this one on ebay from Dove House

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1996-Porsche-911-993-3-8-Carrera-RS_W0QQitemZ380199972478QQcategoryZ9860QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DDLSL%252BSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BIEW%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D10%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8605740958114305107

very nice, low mileage car, but as much money as Gmund wanted for the Guards Red 6k mile car they had last year. Looks like prices are still heading north!

I thought the white car was sold ?

And the Gmund car wasn't sold by Gmund --- it went to East Sussex Porsche (I believe).

If one likes silver it's certainly "sort" after, but a shame that the front spoiler seems not to be fitting as well as it should out of the factory ... [;)] But it looks nice inside and there aren't that many left [8D]

Are we going to look back on these prices in a few years and think, perhaps it was all a little silly?

No, I am not suggesting they will all be £200k and we will kick ourselves for not buying them at these bargain levels,,although such a scenario has to have a certain % of probablility in any forward price expectations!

HEHE wud be u Paul ..................u know what a market is ............i cant work out which car this , but the well known white one with 19000 miles ,believe me MINT .....just went thru at v similar price , and thers a perfect Silver one again v similar spec with abt 23500 abt to do the same ......................i truly cant see them going down in years to come ,right now there are surprising number of folks asking for one as well............of course if u pop over to P/Heads they re all worth £70 k max .........................i ll have all u got left or right, subject to condition ..............................of course there is a lovely Viagara blue with over 100k miles which i know extremely well wud come at £65k

As long as u dont buy on mileage alone, i reckon its abt right asking price ......................looks great , dont know the history while i do on others described .........................hope its never been near Douglas valley , silver rhd etc ???????

Vic, the white car is exceptional, rare spec low miles, never abused etc....that is a true investment car..
Your old Viagra is a cracking useable example, which would probably offer more fun a than some of the true garage queens.

Anything could happen going forward,,, for all we know many of us may sell our lefties back to Europe when/if £/€ is at parity??

the chinese or Hk enthusiasts may just decide they need all of the 40 odd remaining rhd cars over there???

Or we could have a scenario, like we saw in the early 90's for classic cars in the UK???

Fascinating looking back at the classifieds for some cars which were at crazy money vs others cheaper...today spreads have reversed on many!!

Very worrying agreeing so much ...................especially viagara will be more fun

Wud like to think after '89 people have learnt a bit .Look more carefully before buying.........no axe to grind but i paid up for the Cup Car cos its a bit special ,we both know cud ave got one for less , like with the white car will always have a slight premium so long as they remain nice

I AM NAIVE ENOUGH TO BELIEVE PEOPLE WILL DO THAT FOR GENUINE CARS .......................................whats getting harder is sussing out the stinkers , especcilly with the '74 cars and earlier ...........its a minefield is just being polite!

I ve believed for years that yellow 3 0 rs was really James Hunts personal driver, even knew was silver at one stage .....................we ALL know now it was nt , just myth...........the danger is when people deliberatly set out for greed and its criminal ,they re getting very clever putting backs and fronts together ............someone we know goes to inspect with bullet cam down the panels to check proper welds !

The thing I love about this is the value that Porsche themselves put on the special cars.

Sportclassic ? £140k thankyou.

Could these cars be manufactured now, they would cost the same --- £140k, but they can't.

The build quality was and remains fantastic, in fact, I have just refurbished a set of keys o my 84,000 mile RS, --- it is truly amazing that these parts continue to be so easily available.

Then this forum --- also helps to freely advise, provide comfort and sometimes console newer owners who really value and need this help, and who then benefit from all the first class specialists who can ensure that their dream is not tarnished.

Which is a circuitous benefit because it helps to support prices and it keeps our passions alive --- rather than them existing only in museums.

How much fun did we have at Oulton ? How many passengers could not believe how capable these cars are in the face of the latest machinery which might be capable of cutting 7 or 8 seconds off the time round the circuit --- with the dubious advantage of dimming their drivers view of what they or the cars were contributing to the event ?

Rear wheel braking with PSM ? Torque vectoring ? Doesn't sound to me like a step up in gaining the skills necessary to be able to drive ...

Vic, you are right things will only get more confusing as time goes by, which should further widen the price differential between the best and not quite so good cars in terms of condition and provenance.

I was really quite surprised when the "lights came on" with respect to the supposed Hunt 3.0RS.....I appreciate you had one, so assumed you were in the loop, especially with the number produced...it just shows what goes around and the potential danger of believing things must be true because you read it on the internet etc...???

Does anyone know how many UK RHD examples remain in this country? Seem to remember that a few went East last year and I wonder if the White one at DH went the same way.....

FYI NO .....................LIKELY TO PITCH UP AROUND wEST cOUNTRY IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS ........................an area its been before .

Seconded --- I tracked with that car when William owned it --- at Croft.

Of all the cars that Specialist have sold, that would have been my choice --- other than the 2000 mile car but that could only go into a Museum [;)]

Looking back, at £120k it was good value [;)]

When G Mund sold the Riviera Blue 993RSCS (RHD) - or should I call it "RSR" several years ago, it was under £90K - now that is what I would call value but it didn't seem that way at the time [:D]

That was a long time ago, It was offered at £85k 6-8years ago at the same time they also had the polar silver car for sale at £79k, N7 RSR, which a good friend of mine now owns. The adverts in Top Marques magaizine showing both cars for sale are still vivid in my mind.

When I spoke to the previous owner of the blue car, when he purchased it from gmund, he had no real idea on prices, hadn't looked around at any other cars, just wanted that one,,,,which shows......it only takes one buyer for one car...you then have a price established in the market!

As long as good cars are in strong hands( enthusaistic, solvent owners) you can literally name your price benchmarked against other classic Porsche values.

Interesting reading some of these comments and stories about rhd 993 RS cars, thought I would add some tails. One of the previous comments is very true, the 993 RS Clubsport in question was one of the two Riviera Blue cars (the one with low miles on it, currnelty around 14k miles, but at the time in 2004 it has only 11k miles on it), we had the car in the showroom for about 2 weeks priced at £85k, having just had a hectic weekend of sales and customer visits, I vividly remember being at my desk at around 9.30am on the Monday morning when a chap (who I had never met before) pulls up outside the showroom in a green Landy Defender (complete with regulation North Yorkshire mud stuck to it). Said gent walks stright over to the blue RS Clubsport and starts looking over it, so I wonder over to say my hello's, and the chap responds that he really likes the colour and enquires exactly what is the car ? I explain in great detail about the car's provinance and rarity, to which he simply states that he'll have it and pick it up on the Saturday !

The other UK blue RS Clubsport (with factory air con !) I bought in around 2002 from the Cambridge area for about £60k (ALL the money for one back then), I was driving it back up the A1 when I thought of a collector in North London area who may like the car, so whilst driving I rand him (not a jailable offence back then !) and tried to sell him the car. Due to the noise, his first comment was that it sounded too noisey and maybe not for him ! But after lenghly persuation he came up to see the car and boiught it, and for many years went to work in the car in his business suit and still has the car today (along with around 20 more rare Porsches), that RS Clubsport now has around 50k miles on it.

The silver car N7 RSR we owned 3 times, and I remember going around Oulton maybe around 1999 in it at great speed, racing 964 RS's on a track day, that silver car I always thought went quicker than the other ones we had.

We have had the black RS Clubsport twice (was it M3 RSR), I never liked it in black as much because you cannot see the cage details inside as well due to the overall darkness of the interior, like N7 RSR this car had lost it's speedlines along the ownership years and wore BBS rims.

So these are the 4 993 RS Clubsports I have had over the last 10 years, (I know the owner of the 2nd black car - making 5 UK cars that I know of) great cars in many ways, always attrackting interesting owners, many of which we are still in touch with.

Keeping track of these cars always intersts me, like regular 993 RS and all the 964 RS variations, it would make an intesting magazine article one day !

Good to hear from you Andrew [;)]

Look at the trouble you got me into when you sold me the Coral RHD 964RS [:)]

Beautiful, beautiful cars ... do you ever miss your Mint Green LHD '64 RS ?
