RHD RS For sale

ORIGINAL: Essential

That was a long time ago,  It was offered at £85k 6-8years ago at the same time they also had the polar silver car for sale at £79k, N7 RSR, which a good friend of mine now owns.  The adverts in Top Marques magaizine showing both cars for sale are still vivid in my mind.

Good memory and yes, you are correct Andrew had both the Silver and Riviera RSCS @ the time.

Andrew, Is the 2nd black car (not M3 RSR / Bouncers car) owned, along with two or three other RHD RS's by the man who has a passion big yellow diggers?

Out of the remaining 7 UK cars was one was Guards red and the other metalic blue / viola (as seen in a photo clubsport sent me) From reading it sounds like one of these may well have been written off in the early days??? The dealer that I have purchased a nearly new 993 RS from years back sold one of the clubsports new directly to Asia, he told me this car was dropped whilst being loaded onto the ship and written off, he thinks it may well have been repaired.

ChrisW - Nice write up in Porsche post this month, nice reading the history. Two months on teh trot now with 993 RS features. (my car was centre photo on the front cover of the grandstand supplement !!)

Isn't colour an interesting issue ?

Silver just does not do it for me ... Riviera is the best IMHO on a 993RS, whilst Mint Green is the best on the 964RS --- followed swiftly by Maritime Blue [:D]

GT3 MkI ? It has to be Zanzibar Red [:D]

Chris,

Yes I do miss my mintgreen 964 RS, it was a really good example, especially for someone like me who prefers polishing to track days, when I bought it in something like 2000 or 2001 I paid £30,500 which was by far the most back then for one (at the same time we bought two 964 RS N-GT from Tom Shmitz for £24k each, and they were really good cars), but due to a really good offer from a good next owner and lack of use on my part I let it go. I think in everyones dream garage there is a space for a 964 RS and a 993 RS, and as you know too well Chris, once you have tasted the RS theme, it's hard not to get carried away !

cheers, Andrew.
