RHD values holding up

Careful, 'Honest Des' will have it on his forecourt in no time. [;)]

Collector car with collector car mileage.....wonder if its gone to a collector...[:D]

Ollies is cheaper and its a proper RS [;)]

It may not be a 'proper RS' in some camps. But they certainly sell for Proper RS money.[:D]

If used for the purpose of Touring as intended, truely great cars![;)]

Why do you keep taking a pop at the Touring?

Its only a bit of fun.[8|]

Although tbh I really don't think the RHD Touring is a 'true' RS, just like I don't think the RS America is.

What was it Des used to yap on about - The RS is an out of the box clubman racer homologated for racing? Sorry but I just don't see that in the 964RS Touring!

In my opinion it is an oxymoron in all of the RS's ever made.

Not that I don't like the car and would be happy to have one[:)]

Just my opinion, sorry for having one[;)]

Edit to add I actually recommended a guy look at the 964RS Touring a couple of days ago. He has a budget of 40-60k and was considering a 993RS or 993 Turbo....it does have its place...

Fair enough[:D] although Porsche do designate them Carrera RS

I don't suppose anyone but us anorak wearers care anyway

There can be no doubt that the Touring is a true RS, the shell and chassis numbers confirm that.

Whether the Touring is in the spirit of the RS, could be debated for some time,,,as seems to be the case on here! [:D]

There's a fairly narrow spectrum of RS-ness, with the cuppies and minty at one end, the tourings at the other end and the carpets somewhere in the middle.

Its a bit like how rare you like your steak[:D]

That would explain it. I'm vegetarian!

Paul is right though it is of course a true RS but maybe i don't see it as the 'spirit of'...but they are still holding their prices [:)]

This is where any market can get confusing,,you/we think we may know too much or get into a train of thought.

On the basis that a touring is the rarest 964 RS derivative, then that goes some way toward justifying it's price.

If a dealer/seller tells a buyer this and they are happy with it, then the price can make sense, you then go on to a forum and find, what would appear to be the majority viewpoint, as in we wouldn't buy one at that level and you think you have a market?

Assuming there are 6 Tourings if 2 come to market annually, they mostly trade based on the last active price, if the trend (even currency implied) in rare Porsche prices is upward, then they are hardly likely to suddenly lose much £££.

Remember it only takes 1 buyer to conclude a sale and with low volume cars which don't transact that often, deals can easily occur outside what some may think is perhaps justified.

Put it this way, if the Tourings suddenly appeared cheap, the usual suspects on here would be buying them up, spouting about RS shells and production numbers.

Was in Ninemeister today and spotted a rhd 964 rs touring in maritime, Mark did say it had been valued at more than the asking price of this particular touring, like them or not still a very rare beast [:D]

The carpet not far removed from the touring... n-gt ...cup car the boy. LHD worth same if not more than rhd now ...
