RHD values holding up

Des,

Thanks for the offer of the Px, but I'm not looking for a replacement on the T. Decided to trim down the stable a little. The 993 C4S is a must have at some point though.

Steve

I think this is David B's Touring (who started this thread), he did mention that his valuation was well above the £69k mentioned in the advert. But I don't think he would part with such a lovely car some how.
Would be a lovely stable mate, for RSR9[;)]

It is my RST currently at 9m - currently in the final stages of refurbishment. Once complete, I'm fitting a 964 RS lightweight interior courtesy of Southbound, I'll hold on to the OEM interior so the car could be returned to original spec if required.

Jason

door cards - including fittings (straps, window winders etc) are £369 per pair +VAT

I'm also having RS lightweight seats finished in triple blue - price ? dont ask !!!!

Andy finally having the rear parcel shelf carpet with RS script and rear side panels to match £191 + VAT

cheers
David

Not bad price for door cards as they are identical and use the same material.

Sound like it will look the business when finished mate...make sure we get pics! [:)]

You not welding in a 'sudo' Matter Cage???[:D]

Be sure to get before and after pics for us all to ooh and aah at!

WHY!!!!!! You will devalue the car ..... where do you stop? Single mass flywheel, lighter wiring loom, underseal removal ... it,s charm is it's a touring one of 7 .....

How is putting in sport seats, lightweight door cards and RS rear script devaluing it if he is keeping all the original pieces?

He's making it more like a proper RS....value has gone up 10%!![:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][;)]

Its not all about 'value' Des....maybe he actually wants to 'use' it and enjoy it?!

in answer to your questions

no I'm not welding in a Matter cage [8|]

Why am I doing this ? - simply because I prefer the aesthetics of the lightweight trim, in my opinion this type of trim is more in the RS spirit, and I actually find the hard back seats more comfortable.

Does this reduce the value of the car ? - I don't believe it will since I'm retaining all of the OEM touring trim and seats, these will be carefully stored, and will be able to be refitted to the car at any point. As a parallel many '73 2.7 RS Tourings have been converted to '73 2.7 RS Lightweight trim, do they sell for less as a result? there is little evidence to suggest their values are less than similar cars fitted with touring trim. When I come to sell my car I'll be able to offer it with a choice of interior trims, which I don't see as a negative

How far do you go? well......, the car has already got a single mass flywheel, this was fitted in the mid 90s by 930 Motorsport (now 9m), I'm certainly not removing removing the underseal, and I have no intention to meddle with the loom. So the distinguishing Touring features that will remain, are the sunroof - which is a god send on long summer journeys, and headlamp washers.

Is the car going to be tracked ? errrrr, no, that's why I bought the 968CS[:D]

I'll post some before and after photos when it's complete

cheers
David

If I was selling a £1/4m car i'd spend a few £k making it mint (which photos show it isn't) and getting it back to as how it left the factory...which it isn't again.

Then get some decent pics done and sell it through a proper agent or an auction house selling the high end pieces (not H&H at buxton!).

This is a rare car and could make top money if in top condition and shown as such[8|]

Just IMHO[:)]

How much impact would the non originality have on the price? I appreciate its rarity being one of seventeen but the colour change during its life, the 2.8 engine, new steel panels to replace fibreglass etc surely must reduce it's value

I thought that to command that kind of price it would need to be in it's original form. I take on board what you say Jason re prep, advert, auction house etc but it just seems too much dollar for a non original car. In saying that, I don't suppose too many 30 year old cars with a racing heritage are in their original factory spec !

I would speculate that anything with racing heritage is unlikely to be an original panel car. See other thread for reshelling (which doesnt neccessarily kill the value!).

Perhaps different for non-race cars. Or race cars, never raced and put straight in collections.
