Rose silver project

Hiya Steve,
I hope Alasdair gives it the love it deserves !
Alasdair that name rings a bell, good service when i used them, a few years ago now though.

ORIGINAL: 951TSE

When I bought the car the drivers seat side bolster was very ripped which I lived with for a couple of years having made the usual enquiries from Southbound. I got a new interior from Simon Butterworth and sat in the vehicle display at one PCGB annual meet swapping the bits over, that was the interior from the 23K car that Jim refers to. The reason the seats are loose is that I swapped them out with Chris Charlton's set recently as I thought the car would be broken up for parts and it didn't matter.

Alasdair, I will PM you about the aircon.

Regards,

Steve.

Hi Steve,
Must have been hard to part with it after all that time, nice to see it being restored to its former glory!
Tony

Hi Tony,

Yes it is although I couldn't really see any future for the car in my possession as I didn't have the cash or the expertise locally to sort it out. I'm just a bit surprised that the car is in good enough condition to restore as I thought Alasdair was going to break it for spares. Lets hope whoever buys it will enjoy it as much as I have.

Steve.

Got some nice powder coated wheels back today for the car. Just need to order a set of tyres. Also picked up the inner arch pressing from Porsche and have 2 minty solid wings to fit now as well.

Hi Alasdair,

did they use powder from RAL-charts? if so, what color did they use? My son have a st of 951S wheels which should have be painted as well

Hi Oli, I went for a sparkly finish as it makes the slight corrosion less noticeable in the recesses on the circumference. I also like the look of it as well and the 4 wheels were only £120 plus VAT to get done. WIll ask today and see if there is a RAL number and let you know,
Alasdair
