My 993 C2 cabrio was in for bodywork recently and as luck would have it I had a 997 4S as a courtesy car for 2 weeks!! The 997 has a switchable sports exhaust which sounds fantastic - no need for in-car entertainment when the out-car entertainment was so good. Of course, when the 993 came back the exhaust sounded like a lawn mower in comparison.
Having spent some time reading the glittering reports on RSRs on the Forum, and speaking to Gert, I was ready to commit until I spoke to JZ Machtech. They say they have done "before and after testing" on the RSRs and found power/ torque issues. To cut a long story short they recommend the Dansk exhaust, which is obviously a more expensive solution and reportedly not as nice a sound as the RSRs. As I believe you have experience of both systems, I would be very interested in your views. For background, the 993 is my everyday car so I don't want too aggressive. I don't do track days and spend too much time in London suburbia traffic, so most of the time I am under 4,000 rpm.

PS As nice as the 997 is, I was glad to have the 993 back. Objectively the 997 is streets ahead. When you are not in the mood it drives like my old 5-Series Sport, and when you are in the mood it's a Porsche. The 993 is a Porsche all the time - whether you want it or not, but most of the time I do.
