s2 front and rear brakes

ORIGINAL: Eldavo

Yes the Porsche script is a hi-temp vinyl sticker, I got a set of four off eBay at the time.

Chas - nowt wrong with M1144s, they're what I use on the Turbo and that sees lots of track work.

I did not say they did. Most people who I know are quite happy with them (around town in my 205 the braking with those pads became as sharp as a modern Mini, to the point I almost kept on going through the windscreen if I did not drive the car for a while!). However, some peeps have said that they never 'heated up' and were poor at anything bar track speeds which I find hard to believe; Whether they had the M1155s (which I would have felt you would have in your car) or a rubbish pad of sorts is another matter. I for one can vouch for M1144s much like yourself :).

Wilwood calipers had a reputation for lacking torsional rigidity, probably as a result of their lack of mass. Many styles lack dust seals too, making them far from practical.

I did wonder why Wilwoods appear to be 'cheap';the torsional ridigity is one point worth considering. However, most of the sets I have seen (well, the Midlites) have dust seals on :). Saying that, in some applications (and mine) the stock brakes were truly awful making most things an improvement!

Deliberated long and hard between 1144s and 1155s but felt that the 44s would be more civilised for road use. As it is they've been great at everything I've thrown at them. I do have 968 scoops as well as the bumper ducts too and "try" to brake well on track.

I'd definitely go for them again.

getting a bit to tec for me ..... i thought the s2 brekes would fit with a few changes hear and there

think i will keep them standard and paint them up

i will sell the rear s2 calipers i bought
