The following request has come from Phil Raby one of the writers for 911 & Porsche World:

Hi, I'm looking for a really good example of a 944 S2 to feature in 911 & Porsche World. Preferably not a red, black or white car

We'd need you to bring the car along to a photoshoot somewhere in the south or midlands, some time in the next month or so.

Please get in touch if you'd like to be involved.

His details can be found at http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=109017&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

Shame my S2 is black [:(]

Troublemaker [:D]

I think they have been pretty good with 944's this past year. There has been three seperate articles about the Turbo and numerous features on their white S2 (now sadly sold) and all in the 911 anniversary year which was obviously going to dominate.

Must remember to renew my subscription - it ran out in December []

You creep. They have already said that they don't want a black S2.

I recon our assistant Register Secretary Mr N. Fern would be a good candidate. His car is in great condition and totaly standard. Not wishing to put the guy down but he did admit to having done a bit of concourse in years gone buy, don't tell any one though. [;)]

Thats funny, I did think of Nicks car when I first read the request and now that it has had a rolling road tuneup it should be blooming crisp and responsive for their test drive.

I first met Nick at Highclere three years ago when he was entered in the National Concours. I happily watched him clean and reclean and then polish his car in the campsite while we drank beer and BBQ'd dead flesh. Next morning at 6am he was up cleaning it some more before driving it ever so slowly out of the muddy campsite and up to the Concours area.

We must get him on here, or email him persistently

They have had some shockingly badly researched pieces about the water cooled four cylinder cars recently. The write-up on the silver turbo for sale had at least 3 schoolboy errors in it alone and there was some tosh about 968's having 260bhp as well IIRC.

I've decided not to renew my subscription unless things improve. They have 7 months to do that.

The silver one did take an awful long time to sell as well (in fact I don't think it has sold yet, but I have heard no more mention about it on Titanic) which was surprising as they did give it a glowing write up in the mag. I always thought that those featured cars would sell really quickly because of the full page spread, just goes to show what I know [8|]

It was far too dear though and it was neither modified nor completely standard - cups and no rear wiper = messead about with but adds no value.

This is true.

I wonder how long it will take Shirleys Garage to sell that S2 that is currently priced at at 50 quid less than £15k. Possibly one for the concours enthusiasts?

I was in that 2 weeks ao when i picked up my turbo, must admit it really is very nice. (Well maybe ecept for the colour) If it was £13.5k i might have considerd it. But hey i am a power junkie!! Nice car mind.

Hi all, I'm a fairly new club member and new to the forums so go easy ! [:D]

Hi Rich, welcome to the fold.

Click on this link:

Then register a userid for Rennlist and enter your details. There are a few cars offered in there now but you never know you could be the lucky one.

If you've got any pics of your car stick 'em in the current thread in our forum titled 'pics', it'll make a change from Fen and Sims hogging all the space [;)]

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome[:D]

I posted on the rennlist forum, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see if I get a reply. I tried mailing Phil direct but his mailbox was full, just have to hope he reads the forum!

Rich

Well, if it's already been decided then no afriad not [:(]

I managed to send Phil a mail yesterday, and another one to 911 & Porsce World,
but havent had a reply so I guess they aren't interested. Maybe next time!

Turns out I did get a reply from Phil, a private message through the rennlist forum,
but I didn't have the notification option on so didn't get told about it, duh[&:]

Still a no though, he says they've already got one.
