Hi all,
I suspect this isn't a "risk" afterall - introducing an air lock while doing a regular SC engine oil and filter change? My storage guy suggested not even he does his own SCs because of it! He's not normally a scaremonger.....
It'll be my first go at an oil change on a 911 (and dry sumped) but done all my own on other cars (wet sumps) over decades!
Loads of youtube, and 911SC Companion manual, suggests no issues;
- get up to hot temperature
- BIG(!) bucket to catch/drain main tank via drain plug
- Then drain sump/block (mine has the larger case/sump filter pan with central drain plug.
- swap filter
- fit 2 x plugs and new washers
- 9ltrs of oil initially - I'm using valvoline VR1 20/50 mineral
- run up to temp, check level and top up?
Many thanks,
Neil
