By now I'm assuming that you will have all read Scott's sad news that he is stepping down as RO due to ill health, and I'm sure that like me you will all wish him a speedy recovery from his troubles. I've had my own serious health issues over the years so I know it's no picnic, so stay strong Scotty Boy cos we're all rooting for you mate.

But I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Scott for the amazing job he has done as our RO. I'm taking nothing away from the other gallant souls who have tackled this often thankless task, but I think it's fair to say that Scott has really been the best we could have asked for. He has straddled the East/West divide, come up with events to please everyone from hardcore trackies to socialisers, and has sailed the troubled waters of club politics with diplomatic aplomb. Moreover he has raised the club's profile in Scotland, and made me proud to be a member. Nuff said.

Top job Scotty ... get well soon!

John, You are too kind,

Hoping we can continue to make Region 1 one of the busiest in the club.

regards
Scott.

Well said John.
All of the many events arranged by Scott have been appreciated, it has made the club great fun to be part of.
I'm glad you are not giving up completely Scott. Get well soon.

Nice words John ... I think we all agree Scott has been a fantastic RO and fully committed to the post .From personnel experience I know how much effort goes into the position and it is not an easy task .I am sure we all wish him all the best and hope he is back to full fitness soon .

Our good friend and member Alastair Lobban is also going through a rough spell and we hope he continues to get better and see him back at club meets .

+1 in relation to Scott and Alastair. I owe Scott a particular debt of thanks as he was first on the scene with Robin Mears when I had the "off" last summer and made sure I was taken to hospital. Of course it was partly his fault, for trying to keep up when the younger generation was being shown how to ride a bike really fast - lol! Anyway all the best to both and hope to see you fighting fit soon.

Scott, I rather suspect that your members are going to do you proud.

Thanks for the kind words John, may I echo them on behalf of the Club.

Hopefully Scott can prioritise letting the medics do their thing, safe in the knowledge that his friends in PCGB look forward to his active return.

Very best wishes and thanks for all you have done for your region Scott.

Great words John and everyone else. Nothing to add but to echo them all.

A very hard hard act to follow.

Hi Scott, you friends on here have said it all and I also echo what Rob says.

Well done, good luck with the medics and we will see you back in the fold very soon.

Although I'm relatively new to the Club I just wanted to endorse the sentiment of all the other comments here and wish Scott a speedy recovery.

Yes well said John and others , Scott's enthusiasm for the club and the Porsche brand is amazing , although he has stepped into the dark side a few times with those pesky Fiats !

He always made everyone feel welcome and arranged events to cater to all tastes from trackdays to afternoon tea and scones , how he managed to fit it all in with family and work I really don't know . A hard act to follow indeed .

We all wish you a speedy recovery Scott

Fantastic planner, Great organiser, nice guy and good friend......rooting for you to get well soon pal.

Scott,
I know you took over the Region at a difficult time and not only united it but made it vibrant again.
Best wishes and a speedy recovery from your friends down south.
Martyn

Ah, nice comments from everyone and I must of had about 50 emails wishing me well. Things moving slowly with treatment (which is not a pace I am used to),

on the bright side, I did email out about a fab day we have oragnised with OPC Glasgow a week Sunday and with some luck and and a handful of medication I may make it along, Don Alexander has said it was over subscribed in the first day,

See you all soon,

Really enjoyed reading all the various threads to this post.....

I think Scott's illness had actually highlighted the strength and friendship that exists within PCGB here in Scotland. Absolutely no question you've done a sterling job (as per my email) and will be great to see you enjoy future events in a more relaxed capacity.

The genuine friendship, warmth and camaraderie within us has always shone through and despite all being very 'different' people we all share a common interest - Porsche ...... which I thoroughly enjoy.

I have no doubt that R1 will continue to thrive as a result of your efforts over the years. Well done and see you Sunday .

And the good news is that he made sure they tried a keyhole op first, the surgery went well and he's expecting to be home over the weekend.
