If you call, I suggest that the crime desk is more appropriate although you will have to call during office hours. The actual police station is very near the Hendon Royal Air Force Museum; Wembley police station is on the High Road next to the Fire Station; Kilburn police station is next to Queens' Park Underground station.
If the cost of the damage is being put through your insurance then your insurers would want the crime reference number which the police will give you.
Alternatively you can go to your nearest police station and report the crime. I fear that they will try to put you off reporting it if it is not on their 'patch' - I do not know where you live - but if you persevere the local police will record the offence, take a brief statement from you and send it on to Colindale for you. Just stand your ground if they are being difficult; if you are assertive, then you will succeed. Incidentally you should take your insurance documents, MOT and driving licence just in case they ask 'other' questions of you. If you haev a major problem come back to me and I will try to sort mattters out for you through my contacts with the police.
I seem to recall that this problem has been reported in the Hendon papers in the past.
Good luck, I hope that they catch those offspring of unmarried parents soon, that they admit the offence and that their parents are wealthy enough to cough up the cost in compensation via a Youth/Magistrates' Court order. Sadly, you may have to live in hope and should not hold your breath for too long.

IMO it is really important to report such matters. Firstly to ensure that such criminally dangerous and irresponsible conduct is not ignored, and secondly to ensure that the police do something positive to stop such conduct/catch the offenders before they have to come along with an ambulance and fire engine to scrape some unfortunate victim off the road.
Hope all goes well.
If I can be of further help just let me know.

Do you have any other details about this Colindale station.
Ah, Colindale. When we first came over here some friends of mine 'borrowed' a house in West Hendon belonging to a fur magnate (not magnet). They had this old Alfasud (cost them a fiver I think) which had no floor in front of the back seats, no tax no test etc etc and was constantly parked on double yellows etc. One day the car was impounded by the Police and taken to Colindale.
Five or six months later, the guys wantd to go to the coast for the weekend so rather than renting a car they thought they would go down to the copshop and get their car back. I was the only one with a licence so I had to come down to drive it out (I wasn't interested in going to the beach in the bloody death trap).
When we got there, the Police let us in to see it and decide what we want to do. Anyway, in we all went to the yard by the side of the nick and there's the Alfa in the corner. Tried the keys in it and the battery was flat. My buddies decided that the car could go to the scrappy so we made our way out following this copper.
Two of the guys with us were slightly the worse for wear shall we say, so as I'm chatting to the PC about cars being impounded and having to store them for months, out of the corner of my eye I see these one drunken eejit trip over some lighting cable and begin to fall through some barriers up against a car cordoned off for forensics after a post office raid nearby. As he falls, he grabs on to the other headcase for balance (not a good idea) and the two of them go into the car with a crash, rubbing all the fingerprint dust off the bonnet, front wing and driver's door.
By some fluke the PC I was with never heard the bang and saw nothing so needless to say we got out of there quick. Not been back to Colindale since.

Many thanks. Hope to see you there on Wednesday week. I am grey haired, early 50's, with glasses - in Boxster.
Incidentally, you need not be so formal to my sat nav; you can call him Tom [first name terms after your help] although the voice name is Jane. There must be a moral to this but, for the life of me, I can't think of one.
I really must get out and about more often...

Julian, I forgot to answer what time bit: This will be my second time but I think everyone gets there by around 7:30pm-ish onward; food is really good and if you are early and no one is around then you can alway take a walk/drive in Richmond park which is right next door...
