You probably know by now you need to sort out your linkies m8ee :p Details of the last cambelt or water pump change etc rather than just that it has been 'serviced' might help an accurate valuation ( aka guess lol ) O.K you sorted your linkies and added re the belts so now my post looks weird [:D] It's a funny old market as you know but your car certainly sounds a desirable 944 Turbo to say the least. I have my figure in my head already. I'm not after a 944 T but if I were then yours would have to be a buy at the right money ( subject to inspection). Also I'll stick my neck out , I think 944 Turbo prices have reached rock bottom and good ones will actually go up now ! Regards Mas

Now selling my turbo. £5750. Next year I will be moving abroad so I'm now selling. I bought her two years ago for £6995 and have done about 4000 miles in that time. She has now done 114000 and had a MOT and full service in April, and had all the belts etc changed on 105251 miles. The belts were all checked at last service and found to be good for another year.

In the two years I've owned her she has given me trouble free motoring and sailed through both MOT's. The only thing that did cost me was a new air-con compressor and re-gas, but it now blows loverly and cold. I've also re-connollised the split and worn leather seats in a new colour as well as changing the cracked dash. The gauge and instrument lights have all been changed to blue leds, even the heater controls and gear lever which look really modern at night. The body work is in good shiny condition but she does have the odd car park ding and stone chips to the front and wing mirrors as you would expect from a car of this age. The important parts like lower wings and cills are all good and rust free. Mechanically she is spot on having been well maintained over the years and comes with a fully (17) stamped up service book.

She also has fairly new discs and pads all round and nearly new Toyo proxes. I've also purchased the clock repair kit but have yet to fit this. She has been fitted with the Promax level 2 kit and has recorded just shy of the 300 bhp mark. She pulls really well and when on full boost she never fails to put a smile on my face. She is a 1989 MO30 equipped model with 968 rear caster mounts and a 3" stainless steel Hayward & Scott exhaust system. Apart from the clock everything works. I've also fitted a new radio cd player with built in sat nav but I have kept the original as well as the original steering wheel and gear lever and the original chips. I've also had a new Toad alarm fitted. Apart from all the good points listed above the bad points would be the small (but to a fussy eye like mine, bloody annoying) car park dings, the stone chips to the front and wing mirrors, the odd paint work scratch (very very small), a paint work repair to a rear wing that if you catch it in the right light you can see the paint blend, a badly touched up rear diffuser, a replaced front windscreen that hasn't been seated in the middle and the common floppy gear lever fault.
Included in the price is a brand new short shift kit, brand new 968 door handles and second hand 968 door mirrors, which require new mounts as these are left hand drive.

With much thanks Gary

Yours is a good car in a good spec, with nice mods, and it's well looked after. Personally, I'd hold out for a decent price - probably not far off what you paid. Decent cars have become harder to find over the last couple of years, and assuming your description is accurate it's well above the average £4-£5Kcar. I'd consider doing the gear lever, a cheap fix that will take away the only criticism you have of it mechanically. Cosmetically, if anyone would be bothered about a few parking dinks and stone chips then they are welcome to buy one of the many cars with rusty sills and wings for a little bit less. [8|]

BUMP Cheers Guys thanks for the replies but I was hoping there would be a few more opinions on here. Oh well I will just have to enjoy her for another year and see how the market fairs when I have to sell

Hi Gary When I went overseas I only managed to get £5500 after 8 months for mine, similar condition age , model, mods etc but Baltic Blue and Navy leather and 10k more on the mileage fsh and it had a very sheltered life for 14 years with a lady owner. There was a Black un modified sub 98k car that went for just over £6k recently I'm struggling a bit with the colour combo and mods and might be interested in that region if you are with in reaching distance. Can you clarify exactly the promax 2 kit as I had dials and in cabin adjuster and I like Northways to do a once over. regards Gordon PS but I'm not easily put off, I tend to buy my cars on condition etc rather than colour combo's etc, see previous cars.

I got £6k for mine last summer but it looked standard (apart from KWV3 and w/m ARB`s and Cup 1`s)and was a rare Silver Rose spec (no sunroof which a lot of people desire/prefer) but didnt have the revolting Silver Rose spec upholstery. Lose the steering wheel and put an original on it and if the fake carbon comes off, bin it. Enthusiasts will not want that sort of thing. Oh and ...............lose the Pistonheads sticker too, if in the know they will assume its been thrashed on track or tunnel runs.

+1 on the steering wheel don't see why this shouldn't be a 6k car - (I got that for my 168k 250 turbo, albeit with a few more tasty mods)

Interesting. We bang on time and time again about buying a car that has sound bodywork, good recent history etc., or you'll lose £000s putting it right. A steering wheel and some plastic trim, which is easily changeable and will probably pay for itself selling the bits on fleabay, and it could devalue a good car? I agree, but I have no idea why I'd not see beyond the details and you make a good point.

Where can you get the carbon fibre look dash and console trim? Just what I need to spruce up my tired S2 interior!

This is a gorgeous car (at least it definitely was two and a bit years ago when I last saw it in the metal) and I can’t believe it hasn’t sold yet.

I purchased the dash pieces on flybay via America. I only officially put it up for sale yesterday so hopefully I might get a buyer.

Gary I was interested and asked a few questions re belts, promax 2 kit and location, didnt get any responses! Regards Gordon

Don't know if any one has tried to pm me but could they email on kizzidog1@btinternet.com. Moving date brought forward so perhaps a deal could be done on the price.

I'm amazed this is still there - looks a well specced, turned out and maintained car. Hope you shift it soon, I'm trying but I can't find a use for a second 250T!!

Bump After putting my car up for sale I didn't get any firm enquires and then my move abroad got cancelled due to visa problems. However, these have now been resolved and I'm looking to leave between august and december, so I thought I'd test the waters again and see if there's any interest out there. She's certainly not the best cosmetically but structurally and mechanically she can't be faulted. Since the first for sale post, I've covered less than 500 miles and I'm pretty sure she's still under 114000 miles although I will have to check. (Too lazy to walk back up the garage) I've just drove her back from my indie where she sailed through an MOT and also had all the belts replaced. (05/04/11 Four year replacement, not milage) The only difference between last year and this is some of the leather die has rubbed of the drivers seat bead but I have more for touch ups. It seems that sadly these cars still seem to be dropping in value and so with this in mind I think I've priced it very competitively at £4800 + if she sold now, I've just put in £80 of super unleaded and she's got nearly five months of tax left.
