September Blyton Track Day

Quick update on this event.

Entries are still down, and if we don't get enough the event will have to be cancelled, which would be a shame.

Closing date is the 15th August, so if you are planning on entering please send in your entry ASAP.

Many thanks

Rod

Hi Rod,

Have you received enough entries yet, please? The three friends I'd hoped to persuade have all shied away I'm afraid, the last one confirmed today but that still leaves me and Robin. I am happy to send in our entries but thought I'd check to see if it was likely to be going ahead before sending cheques etc. and making unnecessary work for you.

Ian

Thanks Ian, closing date is 15th so a few days to go and then we'll have to make a decision if numbers are not at breakeven point. Only extra work will be returning the cheques back to you in the event it doesn't go ahead.

Rod

Hi Rod,

Can I suggest you speak with George at the Clubhouse? 01608 652911

We we could send an email campaign out for you that may help focus people's minds on the closing date?

It would be a real shame if numbers are down after all your effort, it is a great event.

Best wishes.

Rod,

Apologies, but I'm not going to get there. The car goes down to Hampshire for service and front end respray and will be there from mid September to 2nd week in October. I do hope you get sufficient numbers, I can't believe that you're struggling to fill what I know is an awesome day. Fingers crossed for you and those already booked.

Thanks Mark, I'm hoping we'll get there, as it's a blow to those who have entered already.

As you say its an awesome day, but for whatever reason September is always a struggle.

Good news everyone this event WILL be running!! Last few receipts coming out shortly, and final instructions will follow for early Sept.

Looking forward to Friday. It would be interesting to know who else/what cars are going.

There are a couple of 993s (Robin and Chris) and a '78 3.0 911 rally car plus......

3 x 993, 2 x 944 Turbo's, 2 x 996 turbo, 1 x 997 turbo, 1 x 964 RS, 5 x various Boxsters, 1 x Cayman R, 1 x GT3, throw in a 997 and a 996, plus a couple more and thats about it - around 20 entrants. Should be a good day.

No Cayennes, but a nice selection of cars. Thank you to everyone who came today, I think everything went well, and I hope you all enjoyed it, and had fun.

Rod

Thanks to Rod and the extended support team for a great day. Well done Rob Kellock for making the effort to travel a long way to experience this unusualy relaxed and friendly day. Perfect weather, too. Last hour was really good fun.

Do you reckon you could squeeze more on track at once, Rod? I think an extra 50% would still be very safe.

Brilliant day, thanks Rod.

Great to experience the true potential of my 993 and see different models of different ages, with different ability drivers all pushing on and making the day very enjoyable.

Thanks again

Chris

Thank you for the kind comments glad it seemed to go down well. Thank you too to the extended team. It's not just me, there's Richard, Gavin, Roy the other instructors, the track etc etc!

Yes the track can take more at once Ian as you know from May. With the lower numbers at this event running in this configuration reduced the track costs so the books balanced. Hopefully you still got plenty of track time?

What did did you think of this style of 'open pit lane' as opposed to how we do the May groups?
