Nick, I`m sure you are correct but what I meant is that over many years and hearing of many friends and neighbours `incidents` in the lanes (some cars written off!!) it has always been knock for knock unless witnesses were present (rare) and even then clipping mirrors and wings or door scrapes along banks and hedges etc etc in narrow lanes is hard to prove even with a witness when theres no room on the road with ill defined wide bits.
