Short shift kits

Actually Richard, I think that it's the 997 G97 box which is manufactured by the Japanese company Aisin.

I believe that the Boxster/Cayman G87 6-speed box is of Getrag manufacture.

The Tiptronic transmissions were manufactured by ZF and they also build the PDK transmission.

As you say, Tiptronics for the 986 and 3.4 996's were made by ZF, and 996 Tips for the 3.6 were made by Mercedes.

The 2005 Sevice Iformation Technik for the 987 says the transmission is completely new, so I assumed it was a different manufacturer.
 
I previously fitted a standard 997 shifter with agency power joint to my C4S. Although not a true SSK the shifter travel was greatly reduced and gear changes felt less notchy.

I may have posted before and after pics on the forum. I will look for the link.
