Short Shift

FWIW I have had the Techart adjustable SS on my 996T for 4 years now set at its maximum reduction of 30%.

Can't say I have ever thought it is ever heavy or baulky to use and IMHO, 30% is the min for this as even then, the throw for 2nd is still quite long

In Design 911 they have the Design Tech short shift for £138.
On e-bay there is one that looks exactly the same for £45.

Has anyone looked into this, or bought one?

I'm getting the 997 kit fitted to my 996 the week after next (I'm also getting the complete sports suspension - M030 - kit fitted too, thought I'd get the short-shift at the same time, treat myself). I'll post up my thoughts when I get the car back - mine's a daily driver (12-15k per year) so I'll be able to tell you how easy it is to live with, pretty quickly...

Any tips for fitting it? Does the gearchange tilt towards a mechanical feel or a smooth feel compared to standard?
