Should I buy a Boost Enhancer

Well, the boost enhancer is now in situ and it actually only took the ten minutes to fit , that it claimed!! [:)]
Without putting too fine a point on it, it' s fanbloodytastic!! The power is so much more instant and the car now boosts to 2.0 bar, whereas before it hit about 1.8. It feels so much more responsive and the shove in the back is awesome.
The best £100 I have ever spent! [:D]
If you haven' t yet got one - BUY ONE!!!

Derek

glad you are enjoying it. You might want to wind it back a turn (reduce the opening pressure slightly)

It should not increase the peak boost (which as std. is 0.82 bar)

Dave,

I' ve left my BE as it came out of the box (or rather bag) and get a reasonably consistant .8 bar.

I was given to wonder if there is any harm in screwing it in a bit if this gives extra boost - extra boost means extra power[:)]- assuming you remain the right side of the overboost cut out.[8|]

sorry, i' m slightly confused here; as per Derek' s text above, my dashboard boost meter also reads 1.8bar, but several people have said it should be reading 0.8 - which is correct.

incidentally, after all these positive reports, I think I' m going to HAVE to get one of these Boost Enhancers!

Don' t worry Dan I made the same assumption.

The guage reads absolute boost pressure. Atmospheric pressure is already 1 bar (which is why your guage should read 1 bar when youfirst switch the ignition on). When you drive the car as Dr Porsche intended [:)] the turbocharger forces more air in and raises the absolute pressure to 1.8 bar. This is the 0.8 bar of boost on top of atmospheric.

If you really were making 1.8 bar of boost you would have a seriously powerful engine [:D][:D][:D]. Someone will probably work out the exact figure but at a guess it would be well over 400 bhp []

fitted BE on Friday - awesome. The car has been chipped by AMD to about 265BHP (from 220) a couple of years ago and now it' s making full use of that power - 4 wheel have never been more exciting!
