It would be 3 days before I would have a chance to clean it...
Long time dead I suppose ,just don't want to accelerate the ageing of the car..
Three days in 30 years isn't going to make the slightest bit of difference. Assuming it's all protected underneath, nothing will be touching the metal anyway? [8|]
Go for it. Or, here's a thought....take one of the Sinclair C5s? They shouldn't be mothballed either! [][]

3 days isn't going to make a massive difference, or even a measurable one.
I am a bit of an advocate of the advice that it is better to stretch the legs of a 944 once or twice in the winter months than to leave them mothballed all winter... Having said that, I would also advise that unless you clean in the wheel arches and under the body on a very regular basis of not driving them all winter.
Although.. Thinking about it, one of my customers has an S2 Cab with 300,000 miles on the clock, does about 50k miles a year, drives it all winter and I believe it is on original sills and arches without so much as a blister of rust anywhere! Yet we also have some garage queen 944's which are suffering from mega rust... So I might just be talking complete balls.

If you want to take a 20 minute detour off the A30 at Okehampton you can borrow my pressure washer.....[] Minimum forecast temperature up to 19th is 4C so I doubt there will be any gritting going on!ORIGINAL: MarkK
In a week or so I have to pop down to Cornwall,on my own for a meet up with family...for a couple of days
Question, how bad is it for my turbo to drive in the salt...?
Should I leave it tucked up,and like the title says live a bit!(if no snow is predicted)
What do you think?
I cant believe your debating weather or not to drive it in the winter.
If it was a multi million pound classic then maybe think about it,but it's a 944 Turbo not a Bugatti Royale.

Very fond of the car in question I have a long history with and trust me it has been used plenty in its past, these days rightly or wrongly i can be a bit Lord of the rings about it as I have already had it pulled apart for a light resto up to a nice standard and I don't relish the idea of salty roads screwing up my hard earned work. But I do fancy just using it as per a proportion of your logic although the amount of care I take with something(or indeed the amount I spend on it) is not always proportional to its market value (my logic).
A conflict I had with myself whether or not to use it salty weather...so hence the question, everybody is different eh?
I am leaning towards using it.
