Should I press on with more modifications

Maybe with a 3.2L monster under your hood Paul, but there's no way on earth a stock or even mildly modded 951 can keep up with a well driven / sorted GT3 from what I can see. Having ridden in one on the track I can attest to what a brilliant car they are. Made my car feel like a hastily thrown together billy cart. (Maybe that's uniquely Aussie? They were contraptions we used to make as kids using pram wheels and roll down hills.) So, yes, it's been clinicly proven that Aussie GT3s are the fastest. hehehe.

Might keep up in a straight line but not on a lap. Even with a 3.2 there are a lot of other things you would need to do before you could attempt to lap with a proper track spec GT3. The handling and braking on the new GT3 RS is in another dimension.

Thanks for all the replies ! Have decided to grasp the nettle and go for it and am in the process of sorting out the pounds shillings and pence required. Just need to make sure I don't blow it on buying another car and stay focussed on the mods !

Talking of mods, what are peoples thoughts on the desirability or otherwise of going for a upgraded intercooler given all the other things I am going to end up with. Worth it or really only a marginal improvement in the real world and not worth the additional cost ?

Good man![:D]

As for the intercooler, depends on what mods you mean. Improving flow is always good, but you don't want to go too big or the turbo will need to fill it before it can get to the engine which will damage responsiveness. When I did mine I just went to the LR stage 1 as there didn't seem to be much improvement by going to stage 2 and I thought it not worth the extra cost. But again, it depends what other mods and what your aims are!

Well engine wise I already have : Promax Chip, DPW, DV30, 3.0 FPR, 55 injectors, Vitesse MAF, APEX 1 EBC, 3" Exhaust

Next stage the plan is to have the Bigger Turbo plus a custom Chip map so if I am going to plump for the Intercooler it needs to be worth the additional expense and done at the same time as everything else due to the mapping.

Sounds like a plan! [;)]

Worth looking at the downpipe at the same time as the turbo imho. Although it's another couple of hundred quid, I think it makes sense to do while the turbo (and everything else!) is off.

NOt sure how the custom chip will work with the Vitesse kit. I'd read up on Rennlist if I were you as i'm sure there are some on there who found very little improvement if any over the Vitesse map with VFlex.
