Silverstone Classic "" Display Cars needed[/b]
[/b]
The Silverstone Classic is the main Club event this year. On over July 25th to 27th it provides 3 full days of racing together with the background of thousands of cars from all manner of Car Clubs. There is a ticket offer for Club Members, look for this and more details elsewhere in this issue.

I have been asked to find display cars for this event. As part of a display of 60 Porsche models we need just one example of each of the following:

Boxster 986
Boxster S 986 (I have a car for Saturday/Sunday - need Friday)
Boxster 987
Boxster S 987 (I have a volunteer for all 3 days)
(Any variant of each)

Each of the cars is needed to be on display for the three days of the show and preference will be given to those who can display for the whole 3 days. However if we cannot find someone that can make all 3 days for any of the cars then we will look to replace with others of the same model "" so if you would like to take part please volunteer!

Mark, I cannot get the link to the subscription to work , says login successful but still acess denied..any ideas ,?

Hi Berty987,

The link is to the "Members Only" part of the site - and you are showing as a "non member". Obviously as the offer is for Club Members it is "hidden" to those that have not joined.[&o]

However, if you are indeed a member then you need to confirm this - details were sent in the email when you first joined the forum, or you can go here:
http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=70284

Hope this helps [:)]

Didn't think I could post as a non member , I have to log in to get to this part of the site.? Yes I have membership and have done so for nearly a year. 52851. I'd like to go to the silverstone classic , so can someone please sort out the access for me and change my status accordingly. Thanks

Berty,

Please don't be offended - it's just that you show as a non-member - and that's why you can't access the area [&:]

We welcome non-members - but there are certain areas that are of necessity only open to paid members of the club.

I hope the link above explains it (and this info is in every "welcome" email that goes out when people join the forum - but seems to be "missed" by most!)

Meantime I'm amending your status - so give me a few minutes and you'll be able to access it [8D]

Edit:
I'm having trouble getting the Admin function to work - I'll have to try again later at home [&:] Apologies...

Hi Mark.

I can be there all weekend with my 2000 Boxster S. It's in speed yellow with good options, nice model relevent plate and is featured in Peter Morgan's Boxster buyers guide DVD.

Cheers

Simon

Hi Mark,
I'm attending on the Saturday, and taken advantage of the free ticket to park on the display area. I could possibly leave the car there on Sunday if you need a 987 S. Can't make the Friday though ........

Cheers Mike

To all that were wondering... (which included me [;)])

I've just spoken to Club Office and the 60th anniversary display is not going to happen like this after all. The new arrangement has all of us that have a ticket with "4" in the middle (which should be al of us that volunteered as above, plus all the "display cars") involved in one big 60th anniversary display, so a whole lot more than just 4 Boxsters a day [:)]

My thanks to all who volunteered, and my assurances that you are all still highly valued [8D].

Hi mark

Question please. I am attending Siverstone on Saturday. Ordered tickets thru PCGB. Got tickets and car park pass for public car park P. Thought maybe PCGB would be parked together somewhere. Is this not the case.

Thanks

I think you need to call Club Office asap (ask for Narinda). I don't know how this was worked out. (Maybe P is for Porsche?)
The display cars in the middle of the circuit have a parking pass with 4 in the middle.
Sorry - I just don't know how the arrangements have been made this year. [&o]

Looks like you will be in Porschestrasse. This is a Porsche dedicated parking area within the payline but not on the infield. The area is part of the PCGB event and in fact, my car will be there.

I was sent wrong parking pass. On PCGB advice rang silverstone, person on phone could hardly hide their disinterest in sorting problem. had to get PCGB to ring them. Now advised to pick up corrct pass at main gate, car park 49 "Welcome suite". said i would be in show area with all other cars, maybe that is Porschestrasse. As i have never been to silverstone and website map is awful can anyone advise is main gate Car park 49 on west side of track? as per google earth!!! Hope this won't be another Ragley Hall, I ordered tickets and CP pass thru PCGB giving my member no etc and still got wrong pass!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Pete

Mark

'p' was for bloody public car park. cannot understand how ordered thru PCGB they give me any old pass! Is this why Chief exec has been ejected!

Pete

I understand that "P" is for "PorscheStrasse" - the area behind the Woodcote grandstands that is for all the Porsche cars that are not in the more limited space that is the Porsche 60th Anniversary display in the centre of the circuit.

This is what has been said in other threads posted since my comment above (saying that perhaps P is for Porsche)

I don't think you had the wrong pass after all? [&:]

I didn't think PCGB were handling the actual orders? We had to call MotionWorks and quote the code in Porsche Post to get the offer?

Sorry for any confusion - I wasn't informed of the detail of the arrangements either - I had to stitch it together from the various posts here on the forum as well [&o]

My pass says in large letters "Public car park" makes no mention of porschestrasse, so i don't know. Fingers crossed the right pass is waiting for me on saturday!

Ah sorry - it was the "P" bit from "public car park P" that I latched onto (and it seems Geoff thought the same in his post above).

I too am keeping fingers crossed you will get the right one on Saturday!
