This event has been added to the calendar pretty late, sorry, but as you appreciate, getting access to the Porsche Experience Centre for such a ridiculously low cost is well worth the last-minute availability! Help is also needed, so you can go for nothing if you are able to spend a bit of time on the event team.

Although the 944s and other middle-years cars are going to be the main focus of the event, anyone's welcome. I think it could well be fully booked, bearing in mind the usual cost of the day at Silverstone, so get in as soon as the bookings open next week. [:)]

[FONT=verdana, geneva"] PORSCHE EXPERIENCE CENTRE, SILVERSTONE Sunday 22 MAY 2011 TICKET LINE OPENS 26 APRIL 2011 Following on the success of Boxster & Beyond last year, Porsche Cars GB have again invited us to enjoy their exciting facilities at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone , for our 2011 event. Last year, parking within the venue was restricted to modern Porsches (hence Boxster & Beyond). This year we will be more inclusive in our offer. While the focus is on The Middle Years or Post Classic Porsches, all Porsches will be welcome to park around the track at the Porsche Experience Centre, subject to numbers of course "" first come first served, so book early. As with all static display events, your car is part of the day's attractions. Last year, we instructed all cars to be inplace by 10:00, and to remain in situ until 15:00. Appreciating the need for a little flexibility, the decision has been taken to allow guests to arrive and depart at any point during the day. We will, of course have Marshals on track to monitor traffic flow and space availability and, more importantly, with safety in mind, a strict speed limit will be in place. We feel this will allow a lot more variety to the display cars throughout the day, and encourage an even larger and more impressive display. Included in the day:-
Porsche Specific Parking for all Porsches
Club Shop and Porsche Selection
Static Displays of Racing Porsches
Catering for all tastes and budgets (you can even bring a picnic)
Displays of the newest Porsches available in the UK
A chance to view the superb Porsche Experience Centre facilities. Those who pre-book early will have the opportunity to partake in one of the following dynamic experiences:
Catch a slide on the Kick-plate - A moveable metal plate set flush with the road surface designed to be triggered remotely as a car travels over it, thereby generating the effect of a loss of rear wheel traction* Keep your cool on the IceHill - Simulating sheet ice with computer controlled water jets, this area allows drivers to explore general car control as well as understanding the specific handling characteristics of a car* Experience a Master at work on the LowFriction - Specially formulated tarmac creating an ideal environment where over-steer slides can be provoked, corrected and held** Explore the Cayenne's abilities Off-Road- This area is designed to show how the technical systems on the Porsche Cayenne work in off-road conditions. With 45% declines and ascents, rough terrain and unfeasible side slopes that challenge even the most focused 4x4s, the Cayenne is more than capable of conquering the toughest obstacles** (x) This activity gives you the opportunity to drive "" current UK Driving Licence required
(xx) This activity invites you to sit back with 2 other guests, and be driven as passengers by a Porsche professional driver The Porsche Experience Centre is a very special facility for the Porsche enthusiast. Its architecture echoes Porsche design in functionality with exquisite detailing and is worthy of a visit in its own right. Entry will be £10 per adult for Club Members (£15 for non members) and, to speed entry to Silverstone, pre-booking is strongly recommended. TICKET LINE OPENS 26 APRIL 2011 A 3-course lunch will also be available to book in the Porsche Experience Centre Restaurant at a cost of £30 per person. With only limited spaces available, please book early to avoid disappointment. With a mix of static and dynamic attractions, marshals will be an important element of this event. To volunteer your services, and gain free entry, phone Club Office on 01608 652911. Hi Andy,

Short answer is I don't know. Give it a try, if not they can tell us all the right number to call. [&:]

We need marshalls and a display 944 for this event, free tickets and lunch thrown in. Get in touch if you're able to help, or have an interesting car to put on display (of course it needs to be there the whole day! [:)]).

Hi all,

We're still looking for a 944 to display here. Of course, the usual crowd of volunteers will be there and one of our cars will happily park up in front, but it's a great opportunity for someone to get their pride and joy on display.

Doesn't have to be a concours car, just something that shows what the 944 Register is all about. Something rare, modified, an unusual colour, a totally original early car, a track-day beast, anything really. Let us know what you have, anything is better than my car being photographed yet again! [:D]

Hi Paul
Could have my '83 square dash if you want?

Hi Mike,

Of course yours is welcome, and far better than mine!

I'd really like someone to come forward with a different car, we seem to have the same few of us year after year in every display and picture in the PP. I actually struggled to find a car in my pictures from the Cotswold Rally that didn't look like a repeat of every previous event!

Come on guys, someone must be planning to attend the event and have a nice car that's never been centre-stage before? [:)]

It's OK Paul, I plan to have both my 944S3's there (coupe and cabriolet), so you'll have a couple of proper cars in the display.....[:D][:D][:D]

I may be coming (not 100% certain yet) and you're welcome to have my square dash if it's what you're looking for?

Hi Paul,

I'd be happy to help out with some marshaling if you still need people.

I'll even wash all the dead flies off my car..., if you think excessive amounts of plating and roll cage are suitable for your display.
