Goldtrack have just released their dates for this year. For those new to the forum it's become something of a 944 tradition to pick a date and have a meet up. Any suggestions of which date/s we should choose?

(all 98dB on the full GP circuit at £139, except July 21st which is on the national at £119)

May 14
May 19
June 2
June 8
July 14
July 21 (National Circuit)
July 29
Aug 17

ORIGINAL: John Sims Oh yes. After all Beaky's mods it would be rude not to give him at least one proper outing. [:)]
Excellent [:D], it'll be great to get the old gang back on track (hopefully with lots of new people too). What do we reckon to perhaps a June or July date?

Hi All, I'll be doing as many as I can get to this year - Hence, I plan to be there for May 14th! Regards, Andrew

I'd be up for that! Not done a track day before so have some questions: 1. Is there any reason why a 2.5 Lux with a normal back box would exceed the noise limit? 2. What do you do as regards insurance? Do they offer a policy as a company, I'd like to be covered if anything happened (either my fault or not). 3. What time do they start and how long does it go on for? Sounds right up my street!

Hi, [ul][*]Standard 944 2.5 will be noise friendly. [*]You will need to arrange your own iunsurance - but it will be expensive. Cheaper just to avoid trouble ;-) [*]17:30 until dark[/ul] Regards, Andrew

Excellent! No worries about the noise, 98dB is fine with many aftermarket systems on front engine cars. Insurance is optional, I'd recommend Eggar Lawson for a single days cover, I used it for my first trackday but have never bothered since. It might cost almost as much as the trackday however (or more if they don't have an evening rate). Off the top of my head it's usually 5.30 till 8pm or thereabouts, there's normally loads of track time too, it's such a big circuit that traffic is rarely a problem. We normally go for a meet at a local pub afterwards too. Great news Andrew, I'm going to do as many as I can too, got a lot of catching up to do! <Edited to add, curses, Andrew beat me to it [;)]>

Didn't realise it's a bit of a tradition...mind you I was just starting to do my research on 944s last summer! My S2 will most definitely be ready and seen some track action by then, so I'll definitely be coming along! Any of those dates would work for me...

I'm hoping my car will make its track debut this summer and I think Silverstone would be a great place to start with such a wide track. Would be great to meet up with a few of the forum regulars too. Wont be able to book until closer to the time though due to work. Do they get booked up quickly?

Oh yes please, Silverstone, Donny, Bedford and Rockingham are great as my parents live in Northampton. Thruxton and Castle Coombe are my local tracks. The one event I will defo book well in advance is any days going at Thruxton.

They can do, I'd guess you need to book 3-4 weeks in advance for the most popular mid summer ones, although if the weather is good then it can get booked up even sooner.

June and July for me please [:D] I can't do the 14th May (on the way to my annual 'ring weekend [:D][:D][:D]) Why don't we fix a date for either 2nd or 9th June?

ORIGINAL: Tam Lin So long as slightly breathed-on 924s are welcome, too, where do I apply? [:)]
Very welcome of course, sorry I should have included a link to [link=http://www.goldtrack.co.uk/]Goldtrack [/link]speak to the lovely Melindi and she'll sort you out. Ed, I've just checked my diary and I'm going to struggle to do those two dates in June, my colleague is on holiday, which is a real pain, I might be able to dash over but it's cutting it a bit fine. I think July would be ideal for me.

Maybe we have one date per month? - I see Andrew's already booked for May 14th Peter - any July date will be fine for me (for now) - how about the 14th?

Sounds good to me Ed [:D]

Probably got a bit carried away, but Melindi did me a good deal, so I will be there on May 14th, July 14th, July 29th and Aug 17th... [:D]
