Slightly thicker oil for a high mileage 951 ?

Lol we will hae to meet up one afternoon and exchange geeky stories about our 944s. Maybe we could even show each other our mods if we were daring!!!

(Rob, I see you are just up the road from me, I am in Warboys)

That's 3 of us in the area then.

Where are you Pauly?

There was another red 944 turbo in Warboys, at one of the pubs, but the pub has changed hands and I am now the only 951 in the village....[;)]

My 944S2 has 190k onthe clock. I have used Mobil 1 0-40 for all of its life (and it still uses less than 1/2 litre per 10,000 miles). The last change (by an OPC) suggested moving to the Mobil 1 15-40. I haven't noticed any change and oil pressure is the same.

Just remember, the lower number iindicates the protection (and thickness) at start up and the higher one is the thickness when the engine is warmed up. Hence 40, is 40, is 40. The quality of the oil and the aditives the manufacture uses will do far more to preserve your engine than the viscosity rating. You will pay a bit more for a well known brand, but its a lot cheaper than anything else that you will do to maintain your car......except wash and wax it.

Herts doesnt really seem to be covered by any meet so I would be happy to attend any meet or just meet up casual or otherwise between a few Herts and Cambs folk perhaps ?.
I havnt joined PCGB yet but only because I cant really see any meet ups etc for 944 folk that are fairly close so I'm still deciding what to do. The other club dont have an active section near me either as apparently they are looking for a new Herts co-ordinator :(

Cheers Mas ( near Buntingford)
