So who is going to this one with Goldtrack? £150 with at least 5 x 30 minute sessions.

Initially I was off the idea because it comes soon after my return from holidays but I can feel myself weakening!

By all accounts a few of you are going -- I am trying to whip up some enthusiasm from the 968 community -- could be a good turn out for the front engined porker posse.

post here if going?

here [8D]

and we have an online diary here http://www.titanic.co.uk/cgi-bin/trackdaydiary.py?RequestedTrackDay=433

Woohoo [:D] We have the Rickmeister

You driving or snapping Rick? (this will influence my decision to bring my camera or not [;)] though I do hope to have an incar movie setup like Tony by then)

Could go either way at the moment, Paul.

Partly depends on how far we get with the 944S - big brakes (from Turbot) etc.

Sounds like the perfect excuse to knock off early on a Friday [:D][:D]

Me too, wondering about a proper camera mount or mounting the small cams outside somewhere - hopefully will have time to play before the day.

Arrgh, it's looking probable I'll have to pull out [:(]

I just had to fork out £300 for a second hand back box after mine fell off on holiday in Germany. I needed a replacement quickly (Nurburgring was waiting [8D]) so had to get a '90 model for my '89 car. This has an extra silencer, has lost me 3 psi of boost, and is incredibly quiet [:(], and now that I am home (total of 2000 miles later) I've discovered it is holed and rusted in the same place that caused my original to drop off, so another replacement is likely soon [8|]

I also haven't yet managed to replace my canvass shredded front track tyres after our Brunters evening.

Nurburgring was ace though [8D][:D][8D][:D]

Hope you can sort the car -- come as a passenger anyway if it is still driveable, a full Ring de-brief is required over lunch!

My rear box is showing signs of failure along the main front to back folded seam -- I note it has a 944 No and is dated 1992 so is the original one. Any ideas about a source for a replacement?

(back in work mode after the hols -- looking forward to Friday to improve my lowering mood! where does all this work come from?)

Don't worry the car is absolutely fine, I just need new front tyres but am strapped for cash just now (I could pray for rain I suppose)

Interestingly I solved my loss of 3psi boost. I simply turned the boost controller up so it read 15psi again [:D][:D][:D]

Wierd that this 'wrong' exhaust is obviously more restrictive, but that I can adjust it back up to the correct boost. I don't understand [&:]

(Don't ever mention to Debbie that I could use her S2 on track again [:-][][:-][] )

(I could pray for rain I suppose)

I think your wish may yet come true.

(Don't ever mention to Debbie that I could use her S2 on track again )

I take it that, as plans go, that wasn't recieved perhaps as well as it could have been? [:D] Seemed like the obvious choice to me.

She still hasn't noticed me measuring where the Supercharger will go

A "most cunning" plan. Furthermore, being a girlie, she is unlikely to look under the bonnet and therefore whon't know the difference.[:)] She might think something is up when you keep sugesting she uses the Turbo though. [8|]

My 944S is still 6' in the air, and will be for another two weeks (who allowed mechanics to go on holidays).

Looks like I'll be limited to taking another 5,000 pictures and bagging passenger rides with John Sims, so that I can tell him where to go faster [:D][:D][:D]

Looks like heavy rain is forcast, so please can you all fit your new slicks as it makes for better pictures on the bends [:D][:D]

Tyres are here [:)]

And very nice they look as well. Quite reminiscent of the, now departed, Yoko' 008R.

They are, obviously, covered in mould release agent and will be slippery as a very slippery thing in the first instance. Perhaps I'll put them on this evening to scrub them in a bit on the way to Snett'. [8D]

Well I need all the help I can get.

Perhaps if I bring the Autosport circuit guide you can read it out to me as we go round.

Lovely - pace notes [:)][:)]

Since you've got the same size tyres at each end, you could pull doughnuts round the Hockley Spa roundabout to break the rear set in, then swap them over to do the fronts

Since you've got the same size tyres at each end,

It's very confusing. Because the wheels aren't obviously different now I've had to mark the fronts and rears to ensure I get the right offset at the right end. Whilst it would not be too good to have backs on the front (though didn't somebody do that [;)]) it would be very bad to have them diagonally.
