snow scene & 944

No real snow here, but went out to mine this morning after not using for a week and found the locks, door handles and doors frozen solid, eventually got in, she started on the first turn...but then drivers door froze with the catch open so couldn't shut the door! Sorted it out eventually and used her a couple of times today to warm her through thoroughly[;)]

Think I might use mine to take Mummy home after Chrimbo. Not sure she is properly ready for the experience though. That's my Mum not the car. But come to think of it [;)]

Started 1st time this evening too.

Here's mine after brushing all the snow off it. Didn't want to leave it there as I'm not convinced the tailgate seal or sunroof seals are brilliant.

After 3 weeks of not using mine I brushed the 5 inches of snow of her yesterday. Opened her up to find her bone dry and off she went on the first turn of the key [:)] Due to the weather I then took her to a very reputable foreign migrant worker car wash as it was too god damn cold to do it myself [] Then treated her to a nice boot up the A1 to blow the cobwebs out. You should have seen the faces on the guys at the car wash when I pulled up in her - like Crimbo had arrived a day early. If anything they did an extra speciasl job because of who she was I was quite impressed but not as good as mine obviously.

good for you Rob. I'm too apprehensive to start mine . Its been down to -13 here and its still so frozen that a spade cannot even chip the ice ! I chipped several pieces out of the concrete flagstones though.
Both our front and rear doors were frozen solid this morning . I had to use a fan heater on one for half an hour to get out of the house.

I'm worried that if I turn her over I could strip or snap the cam belt or worse. [&o]

Well my S2 was parked up outside the in-laws at temperatures down to -15 (Shropshire) for three days, and yesterday started up first time and did a faultless 200-or so mile journey to Southampton ...

Low temperatures? What's to worry about?

Oli.
