so saw the LHD 944...

It's in truly fabulous condition. And in all seriousness if you've just bought it than I am highly confident that you've acquired one of the very best cars out there. But you have to realise it's both an S2 rather than a Turbo, and -- far, far, worse -- it's the slowest colour...

Soli, they are confusing the superior deep glossy red that the S2's wear to the faded pink that the smokey Turbo boys drive .....[;)]

ORIGINAL: Lowtimer

Personally, I would not rush to buy a car with a fresh respray unless I knew and had talked to who had done it, and had detailed and graphic knowledge of what was underneath it, ideally through having seen it "before", and extensive photography of the restoration work that went on before it was repainted.

Absolutely 100% spot on. A nice shiny coat of paint can hide a multitude of sins.

On the LHD car the £2K restoration rang alarm bells straight away.....I was thinking "Is that all?"

Would that be because Turbo Boys spend more time driving and less time polishing? [;)] Stands back and dons steel helmet.

Well I must apologise to Soli as I have decided to keep my 944, I took the cover off it over the weekend and popped the bonnet to give it a little pamper and decided that at this point I can't sell.

There are lots of buyers who mess people about but I apologise as in this case it was me the seller ....[]

Sorry

All the best everyone, Paul
