Some shots of my 911T

I bought this car in February after a long search and many emails back and forward to the Spanish seller via a translator go between. The car was originally delivered to Italy, spent some time in Holland and then moved to Spain for 6 years. I imported it into UK in April, structurally everything is sound but the hot weather had dried out every seal, resulting in the car letting in water like a tea bag. This let to some internal rust issues and general tatty interior.

I stripped the interior and then sent the car to Jaq's Bodyshop in Larkhall who did a fantastic job of putting it all right.

The parts department at Porsche Glasgow are now on first name terms given the amount of seals and miscellaneous part that I have had to buy.

Here she is finally restored and looking as she should. I am looking forward to try and bring the T along to some future events, certainly Brian's Porsche in the Park is in the diary.

Hope no one minds the pictures just wanted to share the love of Porsche

Looking lovely Tom, out of interest who did you use for the restoration work and what was the timescale it was completed in?

Are you coming along on Sunday?

Alan.

I wont manage Sunday but will try and come along to the next meeting.

The restoration was carried out by Alex at Jaq's Boodyshop in Larkhall. Good guy and tidy. All in all the car was with him for 4 weeks.

In terms of the carpets everything is original, the edges had perished so I had a leather repair guy restitch them. The headliner is new old stock from America, the aim was to keep everything absolutely stock. I refurbished the insides of the indicators and resprayed them silver rather than buying cheap plastic buying reproductions. These were the enjoyable bits I could do myself.

Hi All

What a great result, you must feel good just looking at it even before you drive it!

Hope we see it at the Silverstone Classic, you may even be in time to book in for the "911X911" Parade.

Have fun

Paul Kelley

Stunning. One question though, no one can ride shot gun, is there only one seat up front?!

I can't help but come back to this thread over and over again, the car looks more beautiful each time I see it. How did your wife respond when you bought it? Did she know about the purchase beforehand? I can't say that mine would have understood. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely, lovely car, concours sunday 22nd Sept should be a date in your diary

regards
Scott.

Well done Tom,

I had the privilege of seeing your car in the flesh at the Scarecrow Parade day in Bothwell. Puts me in the notion to look for a similar project. How did you know what to buy, where to look etc?
