Wanted - 1986 944 turbo exhaust back box.

Mine has broken (mysteriously) at the connection from the tail pipe to the back box after a trip to the independent specialist.

It might not be so mysteriously, and an unlucky co-incidence Rav... I have seen many, many 944 and 924 exhausts fail there. It is posible to plate the rear of the box and weld the tailpipe back on - they will last a good few extra years like that. just welding them tends to just cause the rear of the box to crack a little further away.

any 944 post 87 interior trimmy bits?

Hi Ian,

Check out Porsche for new prices for interior trim parts. They are often cheaper than e-bay prices, and they won't be brittle old parts likely to break. [:)]

Due to some nice new shiny bits, I have a couple of items recently removed from my Turbo:
Dump valve (recirculating) - standard Bosch 993 Turbo item, part number 993.110.337.50. Been on my car for about 7 years. A good replacement for the standard 944 T item. £12 including postage NOW SOLD

Also a boost enhancer (not sure whether Lindsey or Promax), was already fitted to my car when I bought it 8 years ago. £17 including postage. NOW SOLD

I also have a never-fitted Brey Krause fire extinguisher mount. Bought a few years ago from Porscheshop as it was a condition of my insurance for trackdays, but never quite got round to fitting it [8|]. Still in original wrapping with instructions, etc. £30 including postage.

Pictures available of all the above.

Looking for the pressure valve that sits at the back on the 8V head.

This shows the earlier style :

The piston in it should slide freely, with very little effort.

Hi, was it new 7 years ago ?.

Sure was. Bought from OPC Guildford on 24th March 2004 [:D]

Guessing you replaced it with a Forge 007, did that make much difference ?.
Can't really comment I'm afraid - I noticed a definite improvement when I replaced the original DV but I also replaced all the vacuum lines at the same time, so hard to tell exactly what effect the DV had. I have now fitted a Promax level 2 kit, including a new DV. There is certainly a noticeable difference now [:D]

Steve, when you write to santa remember to ask him to include a Head gasket[8|]

Kit = DPW, 3Bar FPR, DV, Chip set?

L2 Promax kit transformed my car some years back. Helpful outfit too.

Good luck
