Spec'ing a new Cayenne

Alex
For £122 the space saver spare wheel might be a godsend one day. And it doesn't interfere with the load space being under the floor.

Definitely try the adaptive cruise, some comments about bogus messages to these systems randomly putting the brakes on sound a bit scary to me.

Final spec just set:

I want to experience servotronic, adaptive cruise, reversing camera, cargo management options before I finalize them though. Anyone have any experience with these?

Also, how do the all season tyres compare to regular tyres?

1. Servotronic - very good, and does improve the steering, but it's a personal judgement
2. Adaptive Cruise - Not used the Porsche system, but currently using a Rolls Royce Ghost (loaned from RR) with their equivalent, and it is quite brilliant. RR has 'head up display' of all speed information and it compliments the system perfectly. Takes a bit of getting used to, but remarkably clever indeed. Re-defines cruise.
3. Reversing Camera - Can be very useful, especially at night. But, if optioned, may as well add the TV.
4. Cargo Management - no experience
5. 'All Season' Tyres - Continentals excellent, whether dry, wet, cold or snowy. Also, provide good wheel rim protection and should last 30,000 mls
6. Pre-heater still the best option if the car is not garaged

welcome to the options club...
FWIW, Mich N1 21" tyres are £240 each

I've got adaptive sport seats in mine - best ever seat I've sat in . bar none.

reversing camera - essential - also mandatory if you're hooking up a trailer (electric tow bar option ? yes please !)
Servotronic - I have it, but I'm still not convinced - does make manoeuvring at v low speeds a doddle tho. But dos lose some driver feel.

adaptive cruise - again got it - spookily good !
when you learn to use it fully & trust it, it makes the averaging camera road sections a no brainer

I'd add rear heated seats too...

Interesting you should raise the issue Alex as I had come to the same conclusion re missing options - see my post re DMS. This looks a good option. It's removable too, which probably answers my question re warranty validation, or should I say invalidation. Wonder what experience others have had, if any.

Well I have been running a Cargraphic power kit on my 997 Turbo for 4 years now, and it's been simply brilliant. I know that CG use RS-Tuning's expertise for this as they race 911s. Unsure about Cayenne's though. If the remap was developed on RS-Tuning's very very expensive engine dyno then it will be amazing too. At just over a grand I think I might have to find out!

Found out more details...

Cargraphic have two options available:

OPTION A
Performance software re-map requiring re-flashing of the ECU. This will require removal of the ECU and the it sent to Cargraphic in Germany for programming. Gains of around 50Bhp/100Nm but the car will be off the road for at least a week.

£1205+vat Fitted

OPTION B
Performance ECU which plugs into the vehicles engine harness, with an adapter loom, and is a plug in and go solution. Advantage is that it can be removed for returning the vehicle to standard. Disadvantage is that it doesn't deliver quite as good performance gains around 45Bhp/90Nm.

£1512+vat Fitted

I hear good things of these guys with diesel engines:
