There is a loophole in the law relating to having to give the details of who was riding / driving the vehicle when it was snapped speeding.

You have the right to remain silent and not incriminate yourself .... However ... Its also an offence under the traffic regs. (Section 172) not to give the drivers details on the NIP. (Notice of intended prosicution)

So here it is ....

When you recieve the NIP, on the part where it asks you to give the drivers / riders information you write 'PLEASE SEE ATTACHED LETTER'

The seperate letter reads like this :

{INSERT THEIR N.I.P. REFERENCE NUMBER HERE}

{INSERT YOUR REGISTRATION NUMBER HERE}

Dear Chief Constable,

Further to the above Notice of Intended Prosecution, I confirm that the following individual was driving / riding the above vehicle at the time of the alleged motoring offence :

{INSERT ALL THE DETAILS ASKED FOR ON THE N.I.P. HERE, INCLUDING NAME, ADDRESS, DATE OF BIRTH AND DRIVER LICENCE NUMBER}

As this statement is provided under threat of criminal penalty (Funke -v- France) and as I have not recieved the caution required by paragraph 10.1 of PACE Code C (Mawdesley -v- The Chief Constable of Cheshire (2004) 1 All E.R. 58), I make this statement on the express understanding that it shall not be used or disclosed in any proceedings of whatever nature against myself.

Your Sincerly,

{INSERT SIGNATURE}

{PRINT NAME HERE}

If you were not the rider / driver then put whoever it was on the NIP and when they recieve the NIP back they fill out as above.

All it means is you are conforming to the Road Traffic Act but the only way they can proceed with the prosicution is to caution you. After they caution you (If they can be bothered wasting all the time and effort for £60), then you have the right to remain silent (well, you do not have to say anything unless you wish to do so). Then THEY have to prove that you were riding the bike.

Not really it just means that you have a bit of CDF (common sense in Civvy Street).

It's not that difficult to avoid getting nabbed for speeding in restricted areas.

So losing your licence (totting up) for 6 mths when you taken to court for doing 79mh on the m6 and sacking 7 staff (iam the boss so laid staff off in depots which were hard for mr to get too) is common sense on the law part.

Also even the Police officer said that was harsh !!!!!!!!!!!
