Speedlines ..... again

Sorry for all the questions ..............

I have been told that it is possible to buy stainless steel outer rims to replace the constantly corroding ali jobs fitted as standard.

Has anyone on here got knowledge of these please ?

Interesting to see that the Speedline outer rim is still available on that site. I am tempted to buy a set of 4 as mine did not polish up very well due to the amount of corrosion on them.

also look at the ring above the outer rims, these are fitted standard at the factory on gt2 wheels, helps reduce the flex of the wheel, which was the cause of the corrosion in the first place. You may need longer bolts.

Nick - let me know if you want to get a set, I will also get a set a, the postage would not doubt be a bit cheaper, I could pick them up from you

DON'T BUY THOSE.

The rims on this link are for the BBS wheel and will not fit the 993 RS Speedline. The 993 RS Speedline uses a split rim wheel with 40 mounting holes.

The rim in the link is a BBS racing wheel rim which is designed for lighter weight and only uses 24 mounting holes.

Try this link from the same site:

993 RS Speedline wheels are expensive to refurb as I'm sure you're aware. Whats interesting on the links is to see how much the bolts cost. There are 160 bolts = £380.

Do you know the finish on these rim edges?? polished stainless or lacquered ali??? They could form the basis of a reasonably priced refurb???

(I have to say though, I am enjoying the hassle free single piece wheels at the moment, i am in no rush to refit the Speedlines.)

If anyone is going to contact these guys can you find out if they do the rims for a 964 cup splittie.

Also wonder if they have the Speedline for Porsche

Lee, if these are for your own 964, then I think you will need the 8 x18 ET 52 and 9.5x18 ET 47 Speedlines for the narrow bodied version,,,,,the wheels above are for the widebody I believe.
