Speedo Lights

I wonder why LED's would be considered illegal for road use. Modern cars (audi, BMW, Mercedes etc) all have LEDs front and rear... Ive even seen some buses with them.
 
Does anyone no the part number of the dash bulbs without taking one out as i can't seem to find any info and Ultraleds still haven't answered my e mail from Friday . If not i will have to ring them.

oh OK. Ill have a look on the site too and see if I can find them. Meantime, you can call them as they are quite helpful.
