Why not take advantage and make the timer read 9:11 [] I've used the timer once and that was at the ring. I found it useful to compare where I was faster (or slow....) and what my max speed was over 13 miles...
ORIGINAL: circleace Thats what I have done!! Unfortunately not as fast as you....got it showing 00.22!!!!

When it was first offered I specced it for my Cayman S then discovered on track that it was an ergonomic nightmare. I agree that it is just too difficult to use safely. It could so easily have been designed to operate with Sat Nav so that little manual input was necessary once it had been set up.ORIGINAL: bobfair Has anyone actually used the Sport Chrono clock to time some laps or a journey. On my track days I found the challenge of staying on the black stuff, avoiding other cars, being in the right gear etc etc meant that I was never able to operate the clock as you have to start it, stopit and start it again in the same position each lap if you want to accurately record each lap. I never managed to do that on a consistent basis and so concluded it was just too difficult to use
Yes at the 'Ring earlier this year - timed all my laps out of interest, but with the bridge and gantry being easy points of the road, was relatively easy to start/stop. My OPC told me they could not activate the light on the Sports Chrono at all!ORIGINAL: bobfair Has anyone actually used the Sport Chrono clock to time some laps or a journey. I can see its OK at the ring where your lap time is 8 or 9 mins plus but on a typical UK track day where its less than 2 mins there is an awful lot of lever pressing to try and record each lap accurately and it becomes an ergonomic challenge too far for me so my GT3 will not have a Sports Chrono. Presumably its much easier if you are using a videobox with GPS input

maybe someone should come up with a clock we could replace it with.
Just a quick note, for those wishing to have the Sports Chrono 'Wart' lit up with the need to Start/Stop the clock; I will gladly code the car for you, even better if you don't like it I will code it back. No charge, no future expectations, just an owner with a PIWIS!!! Indeed if there are any coding options you would like just ask. The only catch .... I guess there had to be one .... You need to be local to the Gerrards Cross area to drop by or I guess grab me at an event (the PIWIS is always in the car for these).
